The B&B was far above expectation. The owner went above and beyond for us. The location was exceptional and close to everything we needed. We will definitely be visiting again and recommending to friends and family
I had a nice stay in Arran, where I stayed for three nights while visiting and exploring North Yorkshire Moors. The manager of the hotel was extremely nice, friendly and very helpful, you ask and you have :-)) The room was clean and comfy enough for what I needed travelling on a budget. The single bed seemed to be very small but it might be due to the fact that I'm used to a king size one. Shared bathroom was for my solely use, which was very nice. The hotel is in a very short walking distance to the sea front. There is no car park so you have to park your car on the road. It's free for overnight from 5pm until 9am. It was very quiet during my stay, and there was no breakfast served due to the new regulations - Covid-19. Overall it's a very good place to stay for the price, and the location is a big bonus
Really good value for money in this very population location on Marine Road. There are lots of B&B's on this street in Scarborough that are all very similar so finding the best value for money led me here. The staff are really pleasant and friendly, the breakfast was really good (choice of cooked with vegetarian option too) and your usual cereal/toast/jam etc.
I didn't like any of it. Shabby and dirty. Old crumbling house. Wind whistling off the North Shore all night. Thought I was in a remake of The Hound of the Baskerville's.
Breakfast dreadful. Cremated sausage, undercooked egg. No offer of butter for toast. No offer of fruit juice to drink. Cheap coffee. Plain horrible.
Close to the cricket ground, close to Scarborough town centre parking available nearby.Clean nice coffee with breakfast good value.Lots of stairs 50 to room 7 washing facilities adequate but not brilliant.Would stay again but try to get ensuite rooms.

A great short break!
The room with shared bathroom was comfortable and clean and adjacent to a shower cubicle and close to the bathroom and toilet. It was perfectly adequate for a one night stay. The full english breakfast with cereal toast and orange juice was well cooked and presented and served in a friendly manner with extra toast and tea or coffee offered without question. The location, adjacent to the Cricket Ground, is ideally situated for the local attractions of North Bay, the Open Air Theatre and Peasholm Park, yet still reasonably accessible to the town centre, harbour and South Bay. All in all very good value for money for a short break away to a great traditional seaside resort, particularly as a single traveller, where single rooms are often charged at a premium rate .
Nice room we had a great view of the cricket club nice friendly staff very clean room breakfast was nice not too far from the town centre beds were quite comfy nice clean lounge and diningroom well worth the money nice friendly family pub close by would go back again

A basic boarding house style b&b. No one can really complain at these prices.
Check-in was over the phone so a charged mobile is essential. It felt a bit faceless meeting no-one until breakfast, it was hard to know if there were staff available overnight or not.
I had a really good trip. After my business day finished I made my way to the B+B, lots of parking spaces available. Made my way I to the B+B, went to a steakhouse nearby , then back for a great sleep. Then had a decent breakfast in the morning. Couldn't fault it
This hotel is well-placed for most North Bay attractions and overlooks the Scarborough Cricket Club ground—so a bonus there for devotees of the game. My room wasn't en suite, but all the relevant facilities were nearby and easily accessible and, like the rest of the hotel, were clean and to a good standard. Heartily recommended.
Room 1 overlooked cricket ground. It was warm and walls and bedding were clean. Duvet covers needed ironing. On top of each of the mattresses was a thick piece of yellow foam covering the springs. The beds were hot due to this and still uncomfortable. The carpet could be a lot cleaner. The ensuite shower and toilet need upgrading and the carpet needs to be replaced by tiles or floor covering which is more hygienic. The cooked breakfast was large and cooked well but the sausageswere poor quality and the cereal choices were basic. The rice 'krispies' were soft and stale. We were expecting a better standard of this 'hotel' based on the reviews we read before booking.

Friendly B&B a short walk away from sea front
We stayed here for one night and found the owner and staff friendly and accommodating. Our room was a small double room with shared bathroom. There were a couple of issues with the condition of the room which the owner was apologetic about. On the whole the room was warm and clean and the service was good. The B&B is a short walk away from the sea front and was a good place to stay for the night.
The price that I paid did not reflect the Arran. It was warm, very clean and the breakfast was unbelievable - again excellent, well cooked and a lot of it as well as well presented on the plate.
What really made this stay was Paul, the manager. He went beyond the call of duty to make my stay one of the best that I have experienced anywhere in the country. A sure asset to the company.
One aspect that I was not happy with and consider perhaps illegal was that I was asked for credit card details as a guarantee, with the tariff to be paid in local currency on arrival at the Arran. When I arrived at the Arran and offered to pay cash, Paul was put in the difficult position of telling me that the owner had taken the money from my card THE NIGHT BEFORE ! Despite it being on the paperwork that I had downloaded. This I consider is illegal, but as it wasn't Paul's fault, I decided to sort this out at a later date - hence this report. I am interested in your comments on this matter, as I hoped to use the Arran again.
The above is my only criticism but it did leave an element of distrust but not with Paul, may I add.
Mr D E Williamson.

Clean and friendly with fabulous breakfast
Paul the manager and his assistant were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was marvellous.
The new owner has only recently bought this B&B and is planning to start updating it. Whilst the décor is tired and the rooms are not ensuite (unusual these days) it is clean and nice.
We were only there for a night but were very impressed with the amount of storage which would have been more than adequate for a longer stay.
