"Charming cottages situated in a scenic holiday location, which form an ideal base from which to explore the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Coast..."

The six cottages at Killerby Old Hall are ideal for a countryside holiday whilst being less than 2 miles from the beach of Cayton Bay. The owners live on-site and guests can enjoy the countryside or relax in the indoor heated swimming pool. The accommodation ranges from the Dovecote sleeping 14 in period splendour, through to cosy Chestnut Cottage which sleeps 6. Set in a pretty courtyard, each cottage is different yet has its own sitting-out area with patio furniture and four of the cottages have private hot tubs.

Killerby Old Hall is situated between the coastal resorts of family friendly Filey, with its cobble landing and pretty promenade, and Scarborough, with its vibrant South Bay and naturally picturesque North Bay, located on part of Britain’s heritage coast. The Stephen Joseph Theatre, famed throughout the county, puts on a number of Alan Ayckbourn productions. To the north, across the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, lies the port of Whitby; famous for its connections to Captain James Cook and Dracula. Robin Hood’s Bay, a former fishing village with a smugglers past, has quaint streets which lead visitors to a small, sandy cove and rock pools. Heading inland, find the historic market town of Pickering, where the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train begins its journey. Access Dalby Forest through the attractive village of Thornton-le-Dale and be sure to stop for an ice cream. The forest offers a range of activities including mountain bike tracks, or for those feeling adventurous there is Go Ape. It is also a popular picnic destination which is surrounded by walks that the whole family can enjoy. Travel a little further afield to Castle Howard with its stunning house and grounds. The ancient, Roman walled city of York sits just an hour up the A64, a famously haunted city with many attractions such as the railway museum, river trips and excellent shopping. To the south along the coast, the Cleveland Way leads to dramatic Flamborough Head and the Bempton RSPB Sanctuary. The village of Cayton is a 500 yard stroll, with two local pubs, post office and shop. Full amenities are just over 4 miles away in Scarborough and fishing is available nearby. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 54 guests.

Although the place was lovely there were a few issues.

Although the place was lovely there were a few issues. There were lots of spiders in the corners of rooms which had clearly been there for some time. Two of the drawers in the downstairs bedroom had toys left in from a previous occupant. My husband had to repressurise the boiler twice a day as there was no hot water otherwise. We spoke to the owners regarding this and were told that they knew about the problem. Not sure what you would do if you didn’t have a technical person in your party! My mum is disabled and used the downstairs bedroom but it was a considerable distance to the toilet and the sink was so small that she had to get washed in the utility room. She managed but it would have been very difficult for anyone in a wheelchair. It was lovely to be able to use the pool but the step into the pool was broken and didn’t feel very safe. Having said all this, we had a lovely week, the furniture and furnishings were lovely, the white sheets and duvet covers were immaculate and we loved the swimming pool and having our own hot tub. We would definitely visit again but if we brought mum we would look at a different property with a proper downstairs shower room. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We have just enjoyed a fabulous family holiday at Yard End House - 11 of us in total.

We have just enjoyed a fabulous family holiday at Yard End House - 11 of us in total. Our grandchildren (aged 3 to 14) so enjoyed the indoor swimming pool next to our house. The house itself was ideal for a family holiday in every way. The six bedroom had the right mix of double and twin/single beds for everyone. The patio at the rear was a lovely space for both the children to play in and the grown ups to relax in. It has it's own pretty garden. Even the weather was on our side - it was the hottest bank holiday Monday on record! Thank you for a special family holiday where we have had the opportunity to lay down precious memories. We would definitely return for another family holiday. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We were a family of 10 ages ranging from 3 to 74 years.

We were a family of 10 ages ranging from 3 to 74 years. Everyone loved the house especially the two large dining tables. It enabled the children to play in the kitchen while food was prepared, then we still had the dining room to eat. The shared pool, games room and play area were also well used. Scarborough has so much to offer. Apart from the beaches we had great fun at the castle. There lots of activities to keep the children happy and busy. Myself and my family stayed at yard end house over easter, we all really enjoyed our time there.

Myself and my family stayed at yard end house over easter, we all really enjoyed our time there. The house is furnished with everything you need and more. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff with regard for sorting out the baby. The wine and chocolates were a nice touch too! The coast is easily reached, just a few minutes drive. The pool was a godsend when the weather turned too the kids loved it. We will be returning!!
