We looked for "secluded", and boy did we get it! We needed a break away from home for a couple of nights so we booked Bickley School House. It is lovely. The bedding and towels were beautifully clean, the kitchen was spotless. The living room.......WOW!!! it's huge and yet still cosy. There are games to play and books to read.
It's our first dog holiday and he loved it too. We walked down the road and down a public pathway through a wood, boggy, but sooo peaceful.
If you're scared by the occasional spider or occasional wildlife this probably isn't for you, we don't mind it so found ourselves in our ideal location. Peter is also very helful on the phone and he would sort out any problems.
The shower was lovely, powerful and hot, fabulous.
We will definately book again.
Oh..... and if you have a little walk up the road you'll come across an honesty table, I can highly recommend the lemon victoria sponge and flapjack!!!

We had a great time staying at the school house.
We had a great time staying at the school house. The rooms are great, massive lounge and well equipped kitchen. The location is beautiful right in the forest. Is a good 30 minute drive to nearest shop so be prepared. The road could be bad in winter, but in summer was fine. The house was good for our toddler as there was a door to the stairs That she could not reach door handle and open, and there is a downstairs bedroom where she slept. The only things that could be improved are new mattresses required on beds upstairs, the Laundry room could do with a clear out, and there was an issue with the boiler but the host Peter was aware and assume it will be fixed soon (the plumber was on the case). Would definitely stay again. Peter provided lots of helpful info and tips on what to visit too.

Beautiful location.
Beautiful location. It is a good sized property. Nice outside space. There were a few dirty items in kitchen cupboards, and I think that it would be best to reduce the number of sets to match the number of people who can stay there so that all can be washed in the dishwasher between guests. The clutter needs to be removed from the laundry room, especially the shelving that blocks half of the door, and the room needed a clean especially to get ride of the rat droppings. It is advertised as having bike storage, but we were told that there wasn’t storage. There is a suitable brick shed, but was full of junk, and could easily be cleared for use as bike storage which is a necessity with the great cycling trails nearby. We did have problems with the boiler and had to follow the instructions to get it started, which meant that we didn’t always have hot water when needed. Hopefully the part they were waiting on has arrived... even with the negatives we would stay there again as it’s such a great location in the Forest.

Amazing property in a quiet rural location, full of character although we thought more could be made
Amazing property in a quiet rural location, full of character although we thought more could be made of the school's history. Children loved building a fire in the fire pit and having a BBQ whilst sat in the evening sunshine.
Main living area is simply stunning and a great place to relax on a night.
