We stayed overnight during a 'waterfall' tour we were taking in the area. The location was super convenient to all the falls we were viewing and minutes to Highlands for restaurants. The cabin was perfect for our stay. It was clean and we loved the updated finishes and decor. Everyone slept great. I would recommend having at least two pillows for each person on the beds for sleeping. You always seem to need at least two to prop up to read, etc. We didn't want to smush the sham pillows. Other than that, we would highly recommend and we would definitely book again.
Absolutely stunning cottage stocked with everything we needed on a beautiful property. Description of the cabin is 100% accurate with gorgeous and comfortable decor. Just a short drive into Highlands to waterfalls, great shopping and plenty of restaurants. We hope to stay again in the future.
This was our second time staying here and it was amazing yet again! We went with a rather large group and everyone raved about how nice the cottages were. They are spacious and updated, and being able to bring our dogs was a huge plus. They loved it! The hostess was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. About a 15 min drive to downtown Highlands. Perfect for a relaxing getaway!
We had a fabulous time staying for an extended weekend and mini family vacation! We were able to bring our dog and went to the nearby waterfalls for hikes. The cottage was spotless upon arrival and so cute! The property was well maintained. We had the best time and can’t wait to come back!
We stayed in the Vintner’s Cottage at the Vineyard at 37 High Holly for a quick couples getaway. This property is an absolute gem~ everything about our experience was amazing! The cottage is just as pictured/described. It is darling and beautifully decorated. It was spotlessly clean and fresh. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views off the back deck are so beautiful! We loved walking the property each day. The fire pit/bocce/market area is fantastic as well. We drove into the Highlands area for lunch and activities which was wonderful, but we would have been perfectly happy spending all of our time relaxing at the vineyard. We would definitely return again~ A true memorable experience!
My husband and I stayed here with our 65lb dog as part of our baby moon and absolutely loved it. We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying in the cabins for the week, so we felt like we had the entire property to ourselves in a secluded little paradise. We only saw a few workers but we did encounter a dog off-leash who I think was one of the staff’s. It was energetic and playful, but friendly. Something to keep an eye out for if you have a dog that is aggressive.
Each morning we walked our dog on the 0.75 mile path around the vineyard and took in the views. There is a very steep hill if you take the full loop, so keep that in mind if you have any physical limitations. We loved taking advantage of the outdoor activities as well (e.g., bocce ball, cornhole). While we didn’t use the fire pit, it would be wonderful on a cool night. S’more materials are prepackaged and available for contactless purchase inside the market (which is a cute airstream-style camper right by the fire pit).
The cabin itself was beautiful. The views were amazing! We debated renting the cottage with a fenced yard for our dog, but I’m glad we didn’t. The views were better and the cabin was perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Materials were provided with recommendations for dining, hiking, activities, and rental information. The cabin is beautifully furnished. The bed was incredibly comfortable, although the second bed had some kind of waterproof mattress cover that made a lot of noise. I’d recommended removing completely. The kitchenette was all we needed - fridge, ice maker, microwave, sink, toaster. The microwave actually allows for a conventional oven setting as well, which we used this to cook pre-made lasagna from Highlands’ Mountain Fresh Grocery (a must visit) one night when we stayed in.
We also had a great time trying to find the hidden lucky cardinal figurine. So happy we spotted it on our second to last day! A sweet sentiment.
The vineyard is in a perfect location! It’s a great place to feel private in the mountains, but only a 20min drive to Clayton or Highlands for shops, restaurants, and hiking.
Overall, we loved this property. We’ve recommended it to several people for when they stay in the area. Would love to come back again soon!
This property was absolutely wonderful. We wanted to get up to the area for a few days of hiking and good food and the accommodations at The Vineyard at High Holly just sealed a great getaway.
Beautiful location & very close to highlands. Cabin was very beautiful & the balcony/deck was perfect. Very closely located to other 4 cabins but no bother at all. Would love to see the vineyard in the spring or summer. Ate at Madison’s & Four Six Five in highlands - both great restaurants.
If you're looking for a quiet escape 37 High Holly is your place. We rented one of their 5 quaint cabins available on the site. They are fairly new (2020) and wonderfully decorated. and super clean. The expansive grounds of the Vineyard provide opportunities for both peaceful and scenic strolls, which we did every day (usually 2X). The view of mountains from our cabin deck was fantastic and it's where we spent a lot of time reading with a good glass of wine. Cabins are somewhat minimalistic (not an oven for instance), but that did not bother us at all as lovely towns of Highland NC and Dilliard & Clayton GA provided great restaurant options...(you must try Julep Farms just 2 miles from Vineyard). The Vineyard does not have options for wine tasting or open to the public as they are an event based venue...but that suited us as it provided a quiet/peaceful stay.
The only hiccup was a problem with the signal for Directv, but property manager Rachel worked hard on getting it working... since we were not there to watch TV anyway it was not a big deal. The internet signal was a little weak but was adequate.
The small staff were very friendly, Rachel responded quickly to any questions we had and Angie, the gardener and groundskeeper, was super friendly (along with her dog "Shooter" who was the Vineyard welcoming committee). Another draw for us is they are Pet friendly, very important to us as we never go anywhere without our Doodle "Murphy".
We are going back again and would highly recommend...5 Stars from us!
This location was absolutely stunning! The back deck opens right up on the grape vines. The rooms are much larger than I expected based off the images, with king beds in each room. We took our three dogs and the property had walking trails and dog waste disposal areas. We also had two kids (3yr and 6yr) and they enjoyed the pond, the gardens, the walking trails, and blowing bubbles off the back deck for hours!
Grandma had a hard time navigating the bathrooms as there were no hand rails or grips on the shower floor. We did a quick run to the drug store and bought a shower seat and did just fine. Plus there is an on demand water heater so plenty of hot water (although water pressure was kind of poor). We selected this location because there were no stairs which made it easy for older individuals to walk around. Besides the lack of traction in the bathrooms the rest of the building was set up for mobility needs (Grandma used her rollator with plenty of spaces to turnaround). That worked out well!
Everything about the place looked and felt new. I did feel the need to cover the chair and couch with a sheet to protect from dog hair (but it wasn’t required by the property). And check out was a breeze! The location did not require you to strip beds, wash towels, vacuum or remove trash. They also provided things like toilet paper, paper towels, soap, garbage bags, coffee, sugar, creamer….. I felt pampered. I would totally stay here again.
We loved our stay. It was the perfect place for our kid free weekend away, while still social distancing. The vineyard is beautiful and the cabins are such a great addition. We had everything we needed and were able to relax, enjoy each other, the beautiful view, comfortable cabin, and surrounding sites. There is no stove, but the grill on the deck is great and the breville microwave, oven, air fryer can Cook multiple options. The internet speed was fine, buffered a little bit at first and was then great. 2 recommendations, coat hooks in the entry would be nice, maybe on the side of fridge cabinet. And the rug in the bedroom at the end of the hall could use a rug pad underneath, I slipped on it twice. We loved finding the hidden cardinal as well. We will definitely be back. Thank you for everything.
The cottage is nicely decorated and comfortable. It is situated on a scenic event property and vineyard. The only downside (and we should have noticed this in the listing) is that there is not a full kitchen.
What a wonderful place for a quick and private getaway. The owners are amazing and the cottages are well equipped and super clean. Don’t hesitate for a second to book this beautiful place!
We loved the property and the cottage was very nice, cozy and perfect for 2 for a long weekend. The location was perfect - close proximity to Highlands and many beautiful hikes/waterfalls. We were very pleased with everything!
We enjoyed the property, beautiful. A few suggestions would be to upgrade mattresses and bedding. Definitely lacking compared to any nice hotel. We left with sore backs and lack of sleep. The sheets are like sand paper. Also when cars passed by In the parking area it was very loud on the gravel and the bright lights shine right into the bedrooms. Better if the driveway was outside the area of the cottages or at a minimum pave the area where cars drive. Road noise was also noticeable.
The cabin itself was quite nice and comfortable. We loved the area.
My husband and I made very last minute (Day before we left) reservations for 2 nights. It was easy to get in touch with Rachel for all of our needs. The cabin was so charming and clean with a beautiful view of the vineyards. It rained most of our stay but we hope to go back and explore the property. We spent the day in Highlands- an easy drive. Will be back!
A quick anniversary trip to the mountains. The cottages at 37 High Holly Vineyards was perfect for the two of us. The views were amazing. We will definitely return.
Highly recommend staying here! We came with a group of friends and absolutely loved the home and property. The views are stunning and the house is located close to many of the outdoor activities. Hope to visit this place again soon!
