The cabin was perfect for our short stay in the Clayton/Highlands area. The cabin was close to both towns we visited and even had a restaurant and bar on site. The beds were comfy and the cabin cozy for everyone even our fur baby.
Lovely accommodations! All cottages fully booked for the holiday weekend but no noise from neighbors to either side. Very accessible by 20 min. drive to Dillard in one direction, and Highlands in the other. Watched Sky Valley fireworks from deck on July 3rd after dinner at Julep Kitchen. Walked The Vineyard property perimeter and found the whole setting to be very tranquil setting back in the property distant from cottages overlooking vineyards and roadway. Fantastic stay - will return in the Fall time if space available.
We loved our weekend stay here. The home and property were beautiful! This is the cleanest vacation property I have ever stayed in, hands down. We can't wait to visit again!
The cottage was beautifully decorated - we like it a lot!
There is pretty much no internet except for intermittent very short lived spurts possibly- so no Netflix or anything streaming. This was a bit of a bummer for us wanting to share pictures and stream some movies. The welcome guide that was sent on line said there would be DVD's there for viewing but our cottage didn't have any DVD movies or a DVD player that we could find. I got in touch w/ the property manager via text and she said there was a redbox close by at the dollar general. Maybe consider changing the welcome guide to say there "may or may not be a DVD player and movies"?? I could have brought both had I known. There is a lot of possible things to do that are close by - we loved Julep Farms and went into Clayton for shopping and an art class w/ Rabun Martin at LuLu & Tully's (had a blast)!
I think what would have made our stay a 5 star experience would have been reliable internet and the welcome guide to be corrected so that nothing is promised that isn't fulfilled. Also it said there would be a copy of the welcome guide at the cottage but there wasn't a copy. I would have printed one out myself had I known. I guess for the amount of money you spend and all the fees (cleaning , mandatory insurance, some service fee that we are unsure what that is for $85??) you just think things would be exactly as specified .. it wasn't "exactly" but it was still beautiful and we had a nice time.
The entire property was serene and peaceful. It was amazing to wake up to views of the mountains and vineyard. The chalet was adorable - decorated beautifully with a nice farmhouse touch. The bed was the most comfortable....be prepared to sleep like a baby! Our only regret was not finding the hidden cardinal... :)
Our family enjoyed our stay in the cottage on Scaly Mountain. It was big enough for five - 3 adults, 2 children and our fur babies. It even snowed prior to us arriving which was beautiful over their vineyard that was our view from our back deck. Very convenient to several charming cities.
The venue is beautiful and our cabin was new and clean and very comfortable. The only possible drawback is for TV lovers since availability is limited. There is a DVD player.
My husband, our two boys and two dogs had a wonderful time at the Vineyard! The Decour made us feel like we were in a French countryside, and we loved walking the grounds and seeing the beautiful vineyard and neighboring cows. We can’t wait to come back! As other reviewer’s have said the Wi-Fi is spotty, but our family did not mind as there was so much to do in the area, even in the rain!
We had the most amazing weekend. The property was fantastic. 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs. We were able to walk around the entire property. We walked across the street to zip line, literally across the street! We drove 1 hour to go white water rafting on the Nantahala. The cabin is about 20 minutes from downtown Highlands. Perfect location!!! Our only complaint - our corkscrew was broken 🤣. But no worries, we borrowed one from the cabin next door!!! Highly recommend any of the cabins at The Vineyard!!!
