"Very good food. Staff were friendly and room was great. Quite a few bugs in the room and behind the curtains but this might have been because of time of year. The drying room was great. Overall a great stay and I will come back next time I’m in the area."

"Mountain View from room, room was tidy and ideal. However location is on a very narrow country road. The breakfast wasn’t warm the following morning, took too many orders at once and only one staff member so delays were experienced."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had such a lovely stay at The Royal Oak in Rosthwaite. It’s a beautiful, quaint hotel with so much character, set in a gorgeous location. The staff were absolutely fab — so friendly and welcoming — and the food was fantastic. Everything about the hotel made it feel relaxed and homely, and we really enjoyed our stay. I’d definitely recommend The Royal Oak to anyone looking for a lovely Lake District break. We’ll absolutely be back! ❤️"

"We had a lovely stay over new year. Beautiful location, great for walks. Lots of good country pubs a short drive away. There is a pub across the road, but it was closed to non-residents when we were there. Also there was no hairdryer in the property, so take your own!"
