Quiet with beautiful lake views & modern rooms.
This was our second time staying at the Lake Shore Resort, the first time staying in cooler Autumn weather. The setting is beautiful, a modernized mid-century motel building with it's back to a small forest, and an amazing view of Lake Michigan in front. As during our first stay in 2018, our room was very clean and still looked like new. I expected the room to feel chilly due to the autumn weather, but the heating worked very well. Due to the pandemic, breakfast was delivered to our room each morning.

My wife and I went out for our 30th wedding anniversary and the resort was beautiful. Now the weather was bad all weekend long.We'll be going back but not untill next summer and earlier in the yr.Would definitely suggest to anyone.

Beautiful place to chill out
Such a beautiful location. The resort was very quiet and laid back. It appeared to be recently renovated. Bathroom was nice but had very little counter space. The grounds were wonderful and we would have used the bikes had the weather cooperated. We moved from room 25 to 22 when we decided to add a night and it was much more spacious. The front desk was very helpful in finding us a second room. the only complaint with first room was that it was too warm at night and no bathroom counter. Would stay here again.

The property is exquisitely landscaped and maintained. It really is an old fashioned motel; however, it is well maintained. It is quiet and peaceful and the views are lovely. The decks overlooking the lake required two stories of stairs and there was not beach. I would return for a very specific quiet time.

Lake Shore Resort-Hidden Gem
Lake Shore resort is a hidden gem!! We enjoyed our stay immensely, every room has a view of Lake Michigan. The resort has complimentary bikes, putt put golf, fire pits and a pool. We will definitely be back for future occasions.

Peaceful and beautiful view of Lake Michigan Very clean. The rooms were a perfect size and the decorations were perfect for the settings The continental breakfast was not only displayed nicely it tasted wonderful. We would highly recommend this place. And we will be going back.

We were on our honeymoon. Beautiful location, right on the water. Room was nice. The bathroom sink was clogged but maintenance came right over and was very friendly.

My wife and I got out of town for our anniversary. The room was small/basic but the location is the best in Saugatuck, right across the street from the Lake with a very nice deck where you can read, watch the sunset. They had kayaks there which we used and also rode bikes the hotel provided. About three miles from the downtown by car. Very nice stay / would recommend.

This property is in a very good location. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The fire pits were a nice touch and also a nice pool. We enjoyed the decks right of the coast of Lake Michigan. This property is very quiet and relaxing. I can’t wait until our next visit

Never again.
Would not recommend this MOTEL. Way, way overpriced. Definitely not a "hidden gem." Pick a nice beachfront HOTEL--costs a lot less! It's important to remember that this is not a hotel--it's a motel. When we first opened the door to our "unit," a musty "old building" smell hit us. So we had to sleep all night in a musty room. Great for mold lovers. Air conditioning? Well, that was a room-type AC that blew on me in bed when I was trying to sleep. Had to barricade the flow from my bed, using our travel luggage. We came for rest and relaxation. Impossible because a worker with an industrial-loud leaf blower made the place sound like a construction site. No relaxation here. The outdoor pool? Would have been nicer if there wasn't grass clippings and other debris floating in the water. The lake view is nice. But if you really want to get close, you have to carefully negotiate a very steep 100 or more stairs. Climbing back up is not fun.

Wonderful resort
Loved staying at Lakeshore resort. The room was clean, and the sunset views were awesome! Also enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night. Besides the sweets, there were hard boiled eggs at breakfast and the coffeewas very good!

Peaceful stay on beach.
Lake Shore resort was perfect. We watched the sunset by the fire pit our first night. Relaxed on beach and did a little shopping in Saugatuck during the day. Very quiet and peaceful.

Comfortable bed, great pool, good location.
Great bed, room was older and had a slight musty smell. Great pool, location, and view of the Lake. Access to the lake is many steps down, and no much sand beach - it's really more deck space if you get a chair early enough. Sunset watching is a major activity! Breakfast is a nice continental spread - they ran out of almost everything on Sunday though.

Serene get away
Looked for a place to be restful and quiet- off the path a bit- but great for serenity and time to just walk, catch some sun, kayak, or bike with the ones they have for guests( no additional cost- although older style like from the 50's one speed use pedal to break. Overall an experience I will repeat.
