"The resort is very spacious, you really need to call a buggy to get around. Nicely landscaped grounds and ocean views. The pool villas are private, luxurious and very comfortable. A 10 out of 10. The resort staff is exceptionally helpful, welcoming and professional. In order to get to the Samui beaches, take the free shuttle into town and walk a few steps. But don’t expect to be alone under the palm trees, the north east shore is definitely the touristy part of the island."

"Just back from a weekend at Dusit Thani. The newly reopened jewel-in-the-crown of Thai hospitality is back. Beautifully designed, calm and luxurious, the hotel has been impeccably designed down to the last detail. The service is as you expect from Dusit, so warm and welcoming, although there were a few - really quite minor - service lags on account of the hotel only being open a few weeks. Breakfast and lunch in the Pavilion restaurant were fantastic, as was a more casual dinner I had at Dusit...

However, I encountered two issues: there was no prior mention of a deposit or the policy that keeps balconies locked for solo guests. I chose this luxury hotel for my birthday and upgraded to a high-floor river view as a treat, so being unable to access the balcony was a letdown.
