"This is a lovely small hotel with wonderful staff (particularly Josepe and Stefana). At the time we were there there was also a suited gentleman who was apparently a Director who hung around in reception looking very austere and unwelcoming. Unfortunately we were not able to use the pool, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel, and there were no streaming channels available on the television, only Italian ones. We would return for the convenience, location and excellent staff."

Hotel Riva Del Sole

Hotel Riva Del Sole

10/10 Excellent

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Santo Stefano?
The best area to stay in Santo Stefano is generally within or just outside the historic centre, particularly around the Via del Castello or the areas offering panoramic views.

The historic centre of Santo Stefano is built on a hilltop, characterised by narrow, winding cobblestone streets and stone buildings. The main square, Piazza del Popolo, is a central point, often featuring local markets and cafes. Many accommodations here are renovated historic properties, offering a traditional Tuscan experience.

For couples looking for a romantic escape, staying within the historic centre provides easy access to local trattorias and wine bars, superb for evening strolls. The intimate setting and lack of car traffic create a truly relaxing atmosphere.

Travellers seeking a more secluded and spacious experience, often with a pool and countryside views, should consider properties just a short drive from the historic centre.
