This iBis hotel is recommendable for two reasons: (1) it is 24-hour staffed; and (2) it is centrally located near all transportation points including long-distance bus centers and a metro station (which gives you access to downtown Santiago with just one metro ride. As such, if you happen to fly in to Santiago as a staging area for your next trip to Valparaiso to board your cruise ship, you are at the right spot. Most importantly, the hotel takes good care of your luggage storage needs with a on-site security guard.

We couldn't make it due to delays with our flight from Cuba to Panama and from Panama to Santiago. I sent an email to the hotel informing them about it. The hotel staff never returned with a response or contacted me again. We made it at the end by 5.30 am on the next day. Door and shutters were closed and nobody to contact . Very disappointed as I still got charged full price for something I never used with my family. Definitely,I won't recommend or use for future staying in Santiago. Ariel Funes arielfunes73@gmail.com

Lamentablemente por horario las cortinas deben permanecer cerradas por precaucion, solo queda habilitada una pequeƱa puerta con citofono para quienes lleguen de noche o madrugada. This is not a safe area to stay in. You can watch people attempting to pickpocket and car jack from your hotel window. The staff are friendly, there is one front desk lady that does not care to be there nor does she want to be there.

Decent enough hotel to spend 2 nights before cruise to get over jet lag. Close to bus station and metro. Restaurant on premises which was handy.

A group of approx 20 arrived from airport at about 8:30 am and we told we had to wait for a 3 pm check in or pay for an early check in . With no amenities there and being in an unsafe area of town after 20 - 24 hours of travelling , needless to say we were very disappointed . Our room particularly was dirty . I washed all services down before unpacking . No instructions, no local advertising , no phone , no coffee , no fridge , no travel size toiletries , no microwave , no hand or face towels. The staff attempted to help with language differences (successfully) . Dinner options were very minimal , and only available at 7 pm. Coffee was never available unless we paid for . The worst part was the air quality . Many families complained of affects of using the A/C or heating as it instantly affected their breathing . Mold was apparent in our room . As an asthmatic , I found it very exhausting to breathe day in and day out . Now that Iā€™m home , I have relief . The fire alarm regularly went off and we found this quite disturbing and alarming .

Basically a good stay for the budget tourist.
Generally good. Excellent location next to subway and to my principle bus depot (Alameda). Quite a few food snack bars along with free breakfast. Room was comfy although I sometimes had to use the extra blanket when it got a little chilly at night, but I like chilly weather. Television worked but was confusing to use, although I seldom needed the television. The shower was harder than most to adjust due to having huge nozzle fixed above the ceiling. Trying to adjust the shower temperature could be tricky as it took a while for the water to warm up and some if could splash on the floor when was trying to adjust its temperature from the outside. But once it was warm, it was a fine shower. Staff were helpful and provided me with a desktop and mouse in the lobby which was excellent.

We had trouble with the door jamming so had to get new door keys twice. As well the water or the shower in the morming was stone cold . Floor 8 They changed our room and the same thing happened there. Floor 3

Crummy hotel in awful neighborhood
This hotel is disgusting--there was hair on the bathroom wall šŸ˜’ and the bathroom floor was dirty. At breakfast, the eggs were watery. And to top it off, this hotel is in a terrible, dangerous neighborhood.

I was doing quarantine for 10 days and pay out of my own pocket for everything the customer service is not good and what Iā€™m so disappointed with is the food and variety of choices in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The property itself is good, clean and well maintained. The problem is the neighborhood. There are constant muggings going on just outside the doors. It's not the hotel's fault but you don't want to get mugged. The police are conspicuously absent and do not even come when called. The muggings are at times violent (if victim resists). We witnessed at least 50 incidents from the hotel windows.

Two things: When checked in the front desk asked for the PDI slip which wasnā€™t given to me at the airport immigration. I explained that I was given the slip only on my first time and I have been to Chile about 10 times for business since. I stayed at Ibis in Copiapo on this same trip. They understood and didnā€™t charge me tax as a non citizen. I show the desk the invoice from Copiapo. The girl wouldnā€™t budge and charged me 19.5% iva. Upon my exit, I asked the immigration officer. I was told they officially stopped issuing PDI slips but one could asked for it. The hotel should be training its employees of these updates in policies. While having breakfast, I was told breakfast wasnā€™t included. I was told to go to the counter. I said as far as I remember on the website itā€™s included. He attendant said it was about amenities available. I donā€™t know if hotels.com or Ibis was trying to be sneaky for $4 worth of food. I surely saw breakfast, wifi, and parking, among other things as I remembered. But only breakfast became an embarrassment.

We stayed there for a night because we were doing a stop to go to ViƱa del Mar the next day. The hotel has the advantage that is right in the Bus Terminal, which was also the main reason why we book the hotel. Thumbs up for that advantage and because it was at a good price. Now, we would not recommend someone to stay there for their visit to Santiago unless it was similar to our case. We felt a bit unsafe as the area is NOT Santiago's nicest spot. Staff was really nice. But, the hotel room could be renovated.
