Friendly staff

This hotel had very nice friendly staff. The hotel is not as nice as the pictures a bit older but clean. The walk to the beach is from the public access about 10-15 minute walk.

Te llevas de 30 a 40 minutos (caminando) para poder ingresar a la playa, aunque este muy cerca, el paso entre hoteles no existe. Los muebles de la habitación estaban un poco descuidados. Al llegar nos encontramos una cucaracha muerta en la cocineta.

The owner of this hotel attempted to have me cancel my prepaid booking with Expedia and pay him directly at least twice as much as I had originally paid. Then he claimed my original booking was at a different hotel in a different town even though the address and phone on my Expedia confirmation matched his location. He refused to allow me to check in. He intended to keep the nearly $800.00 that I had prepaid for a two week stay and also intended for me to drive at 11pm at night as a single female traveler to seek out this “other” hotel in a town that was at least 45 minutes away. He was deceptive, dishonest, and drunk. After two and a half hours of forced negotiations, the staff honored the booking only after the owner must have passed out. At the same time, rather then accommodate me at a different hotel, Expedia made me personally wait and fight to stay at a place that was inhospitable and literally under constant construction. I endured scathing stares every time I had to see the owner for 2 weeks. I could not find another hotel at the same rate with a kitchen in the area. Additionally, I was not offered a refund so I felt forced to stay. I only write this to inform travelers that this could happen again. I feel bad for the rest of the staff as they were kind. I would sincerely advise you to think twice before choosing this hotel. I believe the character of the owner is highly unlikely to change and I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Building in need of repair, especially the bottom floor. It took us a few days but settled right in, it was comfortable, don't have to grab a seat at the pool as there is plenty of room. Could use some better pans to cook in though. It was quite bright in our room, plenty of lights. Love the old style mexican building.

Pleasant stay

This hotel was perfect for our stay.. there was enough space for 6 of us. Not a luxury hotel, but served it's purpose. The pool needed some maintenance as the water was green in some places. We were greeted warmly and had no problems with our reservation. The Beach is within walking distance, but you have to go around the fancy hotels across the street. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Great Hotel

Everything about this hotel and its setting are very comfortable for the aware traveler in Mexico. The hotel owner and staff are very friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to travel with. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the pool is very good and clean, the grounds are beautiful and attract birds, and the neighboring stores and restaurant are very convenient and good. The location is very pleasant and convenient to all the bays and beaches of Huatulco, and to Santa Cruz and La Crucecita. So this hotel is a real find for the traveler who does not want an all-inclusive resort.
