"What views from this wonderful apartment. Every evening the sunset was warm and comfortable on the lounge chairs and mornings perfect -sitting enjoying the fruit and olive trees and distant mountains. A perfect place to paint if inclined. The inside kitchen was very well equipped and we easily made a few meals. We were fortunate that it was olive harvest and I offered to help rake the trees and collect the bounty. Sabrina and Luca drove us to the town olive press and we watched the flourescent green liquid pour into the container at the end process. This year’s first pressing. What a wonderful experience! Their sons gave us information about the little working farm and its history and local treasures not to be missed. We easily drove to Pienza, a very charming hill town, Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and Arezzo. Very high recommendations."

"The Village of Cortona was wonderful. The people, the restaurants, the charming warm and welcoming days and evenings visiting the piazzas. The Travel with Tuscany Team, our driver and tours were great.Casa delle Rosa certainly was well managed, charming place and beautiful views from balcony. There definitely are a lot of stairs to get to that balcony but well worth the climb. We hope to return to Cortona."

"This villetta is perfect if you are looking to stay near a village with views of the countryside. There are olive groves that surround the property making it easy to go for a small walk nearby. The accommodations are typical and comfortable. The owner was very accommodating providing help when we needed it. The gardens are beautiful and the view from the property of the iconic church is unmatched. The sunrise and sunset from the villa are fabulous. The property is so close to Cortona that you can really feel a part of the community staying here with easy access to the village. Grocery stores are easily accessible as well down below the property in nearby Camucia. The villa was perfect for 4 people but could easily handle another 2 with one person sleeping on the couch. The single bedroom is much smaller than anticipated, but has a small sitting room near it that helps with space. The road in and out of the property is quite narrow and oncoming traffic can be hard to see. There are mirrors for exit, but you need to listen for traffic and it helps to have another person for another set of eyes. The stone walls on the side of the road to access the property are narrow and close as mentioned. Anything larger than a mid-size car would be too big. Overall, we had a fabulous stay here at Villa Calinaio. The views, classic old world rustic charm, and the gardens with pool make this a fantastic choice for a small group staying near Cortona."
