Tranquil home in the mountains

Wonderful stay in a peaceful sanctuary in the clouds, surrounded by beautiful trees and mountains. The cottage is on a large estate with lots of space for kids to run and play too. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and stayed cool in the summer heat. A great base from which to explore the whole island!

Andrew is extremely responsive and welcoming. He had a few provisions there for us in addition to letting us know we could walk around his property which is beautiful. The sheep are fun to hang around with also!

abgelegenes und ruhiges Ferienhaus

Der Aufenthalt in dem Ferienhaus hat uns sehr gut gefallen, obwohl wir während des schweren Unwetters Anfang Juni 23 dort waren. Sehr fürsorglicher Vermieter. Er hat uns auf das drohende Unwetter bereits vor unserer Ankunft aufmerksam gemacht. Wir wurden sehr sehr freundlich empfangen, der Kühlschank war gefüllt, die Heizung angestellt und der Kamin brannte.

Mooi huis in prachtige omgeving

Wij waren er met 4 vriendinnen eind november 2016. We werden 's avonds laat afgehaald op de luchthaven door de vriendelijke eigenaar Jeremy en begeleid naar onze vakantiewoning. De ontvangst was hartelijk. Een fles Madeira en al wat nodig was voor een lichte maaltijd en een eerste ontbijt. Het huis (main house) is fantastisch. Veel ruime kamers. In de winter is vooral het leefgedeelte moeilijk te verwarmen. De temperatuur in Santo da Serra is 5 tot 7 graden minder dan aan de kust. We hebben dus veel gebruik gemaakt van de open haard. Hout was er in overvloed.Producten van de bio-boerderij hebben we spijtig genoeg niet kunnen kopen, en in de 9d dat we er waren werd het linnen werd niet ververst. Het was een leuke vakantie. Enkele kleine mooie dorpjes dichtbij, Funchal op minder dan een uur rijden, en mooie wandelingen in de buurt.
