First night was great, property is very clean and well kept. I'm a tech guy, so needing to text/call for instructions to get keys was a little nuisance, but nothing deal breaking.
Second day is where things got weird.....we stayed here so that we could enjoy Cedar Point. We have season passes so we get in early, but live almost 2 hours away. The idea was to stay local and save the travel time, and do the park for two days.
At about 11:30am after the first night, I get a text that they will be replacing the A/C unit in the attic. No biggie. It was a little warm the first night, so that makes sense. Apparently the only way to the attic is through the bathroom in the rental unit. We asked if we needed to stay away and Jeff assured us we did not, but they would be starting at 5:30 PM.
We decided to cut our day at the park short so at least one of us could shower before we couldn't use the bathroom (my wife and daughter both planned on showering after the long day in the sun). Right at 5:30, Jeff and some other guys showed up to start the work, we went into town to kill time and eat dinner, etc. Around 8pm we checked on the progress, and they were still there, so we stalled longer. At 9, we spoke with Jeff and he said about 30 minutes. We say cool, and plop down the couch and watch some TV...about 9:30 Jeff says about 30 minutes...we roll our eyes and say fine. At 10 my wife yells up the stairs asking how much longer (at this point my daughter still had to shower, and the point of this trip was to be at the park before 9am in the morning). The person upstairs (not Jeff) says "maybe another hour?". So....that would be 11pm IF this estimate is accurate.
We talked to Jeff and decided that our weekend plans were shot now since there was no way we'd be able to get up early with them working until at least 11. We said screw it and drove the two hours home. At 10pm.
Jeff was at least understanding and refunded us the second night. But for future reference, STARTING a project at 5:30pm when you have guests is a terrible idea.
