"This was a fantastic experience as a first time traveler! All of the staff were extremely helpful!! In particular, Jocelyn helped get us book a taxi at 6h50 in the morning! And they all provided excellent tips for what to do in Monteverde. And the kitchen staff were so kind, and they are great cooks, breakfeast was incredible. The view from our room was one of the best part of our trips! I will definelty be coming back on my future trips to Monteverde."

"This place is amazing, very clean with great spaces inside and located on a very private piece of land with its own trail leading to a waterfall. I could have spent a couple of days just exploring the jungle on the trails behind this house. Everything is well maintained and the property manger was a wealth of local information. I look forward to returning. "

"The property grounds are incredible, offering an abundance of options for guests to explore and have access to. All staff encountered were kind and helpful. It was also a complete benefit that the Cloud Forest shuttle is literally right across the road! We would definitely stay here again!"

"We stayed at the house for seven nights with five people and everything was perfect. It is in a great central location where you can access all the local reserves and restaurants downtown. Laurie set us up with Raul Jr for a bird watching tour and a night hike. He was the greatest, very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and history of the area. He was able to locate everything we had on our wish list.I would advise you to bring one heavier set of clothing because it can get cold in the night, which we were told beforehand. It was only cold the first night, but we had what we needed and there is a wood stove. There's a beautiful pair of Masked Tityra that must be nesting in the area. Keep the hummingbird feeders full! We will all remember that view forever."

"Raul was great. The location and secludedness of the cabin was wonderful and the cloud forest property was beautiful. My son especially enjoyed the hummingbird feeders and seeing the amazing variety of hummingbirds. If you’re a camper you’ll likely really enjoy a stay here. But the cabin itself needs some repair. Several outlets and outdoor lights were not working. One of the upstairs windows had been replaced with plastic sheeting. We had some mice and two scorpions. So if you’re not ok with very rustic nature, you probably want to look elsewhere. That being said, my family enjoyed the time here. "

"This brand-new property on VRBO belongs to colleagues, and we were delighted to be their first official renters!The location is lovely and private, above the town toward the Cloud Forest Preserve, making it possible to walk up the road and avoid the shuttle parking below. We saw mot-mots and wild turkeys on the driveway!Raul was extremely helpful, easy to communicate with, and cheerful even when we arrived in the rain after dark. The house is very secure and the wi-fi's solid. Great to have the convenience of a washer/dryer!It's got a full kitchen, big fridge, stove/oven, and everything you'd need for a home stay. That said, it's a property for a certain clientele. It's not fancy, the driveway requires 4-wheel drive, there's no heat, and it's driving distance from all of Santa Elena/Monteverde's shops, restaurants and attractions.If you're looking for a simple, quiet, nature-focused stay, this is it!"
