"Room was clean and exactly what we needed during our two night stay. Loved the hot tub. We did have a hard time finding the property as there was no sign at the time of our visit but gps got us 99% of the way. It’s directly across from the meeting point of the guided hanging bridges walking tour so we were able to walk over. You’ll be able to drive about 10 minutes to town. Parking wasn’t too bad in the town area during our stay and the hotel has parking"

"At the end of the rainbow, on the edge of the cloud forest, sits Hotel Belmar. The property feels like a unique blend of a boutique eco-lodge and a European ski chalet, crafted almost entirely from local wood. While the approach road is steep and rocky, there is convenient parking very close to the entrance. With only 40 rooms, the experience feels intimate. Our room featured a private balcony with seating for two and a spectacular view of the valley extending all the way to the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific coast. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, featuring functional bathrooms with eco-friendly products. To ensure total immersion in the cloud forest, there are no TVs—a touch we truly appreciated. If you are on the property at sunset, you won't be disappointed; the colors are incredible. The dining was a distinct highlight. The onsite restaurant, Celajes, practices farm-to-table dining using produce from their own organic farm, Madre Tierra. Breakfast was included and offered plenty of hearty, healthy options. We also enjoyed two outstanding dinners there; the quality, quantity, and care put into each dish were evident. The waitstaff was perfectly attentive, and the bartender crafts excellent cocktails using fresh, onsite ingredients. Don't miss the onsite craft brewery—even as a non-IPA fan, I found theirs well-balanced and smooth, though the Stout was my personal favorite. The service and activities truly set Belmar apart. "My stay became an average to excellent by the services of the staff member Mr Cristian, he helped in many ways . Hotel is located out of town and he helped taxi to bring us back. View is amazing and pool and hot tub a joy. Limited food availability but local ladies in kitchen made us home made breakfast. "

"I don’t recommend this hotel. Our room had zero ventilation so it got very hot and stuffy at night. There was no fan or ac so it was hard to sleep. There was zero housekeeping and when I needed items like toilet paper or a towel I had to find someone at the front desk - most of the time staff was no where to be found and the front desk was unattended. The hot water in the shower cut off halfway through my shower twice. The most upsetting thing was that we booked this hotel based on the fact it advertised a hot tub. We immediately wanted to use it once we checked in and found it completely cold. The pool was dirty and unkempt as well. They said they would turn it on but over the next few hours it only got marginally hotter, no where close to being an actual hot tub. Same thing happened the next day, it was very cold and wet out and we wanted nothing more than to relax in a hot tub. We go down in our bathing suits, cold once again. I’m sure they keep it off to save money but don’t advertise a hot tub if it’s never going to be kept hot. It was very disappointing."

"What a wonderful stay!! We got into Villa Golondrina after a long day of travel. The house was spotless, extremely comfortable, and there was a nice welcome package with some items for breakfast the next morning. When I woke up I was greeted by the extraordinary views of the rain forest and the valley below. The house is located about a ten minute drive from Santa Elena where there are some very nice restaurants and places to shop. It is also very well located for visiting the hiking trails into the Cloud Forest. If you happen to have a student studying abroad at CIEE Monteverde, the campus is located about 5 minutes from Villa Golondrina. If you are visiting the area, please do not hesitate to stay here. Villa Golondrina will be a great home base to see the area. "
