"First time staying at an eco farm stay and it was a fantastic experience! You won’t find 5 star amenities like a gym or spa; just 5 star epic views and sunsets and nature trails in the backyard, or a visit from a coati by your veranda. Unplug. If you travel for food, you will love their restaurant, Farm to Table. We tried a meal in town at a popular restaurant on our second day and regretted it—had the rest of our meals at Valle Escondido. We went to bed dreaming of the multigrain bread at the breakfast spread (and yogurt and granola). Everything was made on site or sourced locally, and you can taste the difference. Pizzas were bomb. Even my kids looked forward to happy hour—get the guaro sour and lose count. Make sure you take a tour of the permaculture on the premises; it will give you an appreciation for the pervasive Costa Rican culture of environmentalism and inspire you to eat for wellness and save the planet. Stay here and find your people—its a total vibe."

"Clean room & the had a dehumidifier which was unexpected but great in such a humid spot! Friendly staff, great breakfast options, nice pool with a swim up bar! Went on the howler monkey trail and saw a family of howlers so that’s an added bonus for guests! "

"Phenomenal views from the room. The hot tub in the room was a super luxurious touch, with a great view of the volcano. Staff couldn’t have been more gracious and friendly. Special shout out to Randall and Leonardo at the front desk, and Gabriel in the restaurant. The breakfast were delicious!"

" We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the room had one of the most spectacular view I’ve ever seen in Costa Rica. The room was clean and very spacious, with modern sinks, toilet, and showers. The bed was very comfortable, true to other reviews. Food at the resort is very good, though cocktails were a little disappointing for the price. Make sure you take the offered jungle hike and wear decent sneakers or hiking boots. It is absolutely gorgeous and we had fun for a couple of hours taking in every trail we could (don’t worry, there are shortcut trails too). We were frequently amazed that even on the trails that somewhere forty years ago, people put in all those pavers and tables and chairs in the woods! The front desk/reception has a whole book of tours you can sign up for including horseback riding and rafting, etc. We only stayed a couple of days so we just took in and enjoyed the property, hiked a lot, used the pool table, and stared at the magnificent scenery. For people who want to get away from it all for a few days, this is a great place to do so. "

"Amazing staff and absolutely delicious breakfast!! Property was well maintained and welcoming, and the fireplace was lovely in the evening. The rooms are cozy, with spacious modern bathrooms, warm water, and good pressure, which was especially wonderful after a long day of activities. There is limited storage for clothing, just 2 small benches and a few hooks - fine for a solo traveler but could get a bit crowded with 2 people. Special thanks to Jocelyn and Diego for making excellent tour recommendations and coordinating everything, including transportation. They were incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make my stay perfect! Can't wait to return. "
