It was good. Close to the beach, to restaurants, to shops. All in walking distance. Will definitely stay there again.
This is an older motel. You’ll get a clean room, working shower with a great location. Not fancy, not high end.
Staff was nice and it was perfect for what we needed.
Checked in 3 hours early and they had our room nice and clean. The owner was super helpful. Her staff was amazing! Only a few blocks away from the beach. We only stayed one night, but very nice.
Dumpy staff, dirty property, didn't get any accoutrements like ice bucket, toilet paper, or clean sheets, loud area and neighbors(buy ear plugs) but still giving 4 stars as it's the cheapest motel in OB right across from the beach and down the street Garnett with all the nightlife. Park your car and walk around and enjoy SD beaches and life...
It’s a surfer motel. No amenities, ugly rooms, no air conditioning. Pacific Beach is a pleasant spot with nice cool weather. This place is budget, only acceptable if you only come back to sleep. Bottom line is that I recommend it if you’re looking for the cheapest lodging in Pacific Beach and everything else here is crazy expensive now. Convenient, park right outside your room. It’s acceptable, don’t expect to like this motel.

The location is worth everything but is a very basic room. I was pleased to see an updated bathroom but lacks other amenities like a refrigerator, microwave or temperature regulation. It was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was confused why I was charged for parking on top of the deposit that I am still waiting to be returned. Overall, it was pleasant for a quick 2 day beach bum trip. One block from the boardwalk, restaurant, bars and ocean. I would.come back just for the ease of location, parking and affordable price.
room was extremely dirty, mold all over the shower, hair left in the towels and sheets, brown stains on the towels, the floor was dirty. in desperate need of a deep clean.
they double charged me and still haven’t gotten a refund 5 days later. the first set of room keys they gave didn’t work.
this location definitely needs a renovation or better upkeep, it’s in a great location, right next to the beach and good restaurants. feels generally safe.
I have been staying here with my family since 2003 for our annual pacific beach family trip, and there was never an issue. Yes, the hotel was old but it was clean, all the outlets worked as they should and the ammenities were just fine-and best part it was very affordable. Apparently the family that owned it for over 50+ years sold it this year (2026), and it is just not what is used to be. Expedia had rooms that looked renovated listed, however what we got was barely habitable. There was a missing window from the bathroom, only 1 shabby light worked on the table, none of the outlets worked, and a overloaded extension cord was available. I would not recommend, go to PB surf across the street instead or more inland. Yes; the location is awesome but not for the cost and lack of cleanliness/basic needs such as electric outlets or lights working.
You get what you pay for.
No remote for the TV in the room. No that was useless. Asked for one and none ever came,
Staff is very friendly!
Bed only has a sheet, no blanket. Very thin pillows.
No air conditioning, which I didn’t know when I booked. It was a very stuffy night!
Road noise it very apparent but - the price of the room cannot be beat. Great place for 20-something year olds to stay affordable and have a great time.
Room was dirty. The shower was moldy and there was hair from the previous person still in the shower wall. Floors inside the room were dirty and made our feet black.
No a/c, no mini fridge or microwave. Tv was laggy and picture quality was grainy.. the fan, and tv set up were all plugged into an extension power strip hanging from the wall. Their dumpster was right next to our bathroom window so we could smell the trash when we tried to cool off the room at night.
On the positive side their pool was warm and clean, we enjoyed a few hours there after the beach.
All the restaurants and shops were amazing and so close as well as the beach. It’s in a great area overall. Just wish the cleanliness and safety of the room was better.
No microwave or fridge in rooms. Ice machine was out. Floors are cracked and dirty. Bathroom is very very small, looks nicer in pictures but in real life rooms are kinda rough. Also did see spiders and small roaches in our room.
Upside it’s close to the beach and lots of food and Ralph’s close by.
I loved Motels location, everything was in walking distance. Motel was doable for stay. Only downfall was it had an old smell. The area did not have any hotels, more like Hostels, Beach dorm like and cottages. Overall I was pleased with my stay and with the helpful staff. I’d definitely come back.

Staff was super friendly and nice, no AC (fans and open windows), no fridge or microwave (which for the price you pay you would think they could supply a fridge at least. Floors were honestly dirty.... (Like my feet were black) Sheets were not soft and towels were barely big enough to dry you off but you get what you get with a motel.
Pool was great, location is what you pay for!!!!!! Its near everything and that is the only perk of this place. If it actually had a fridge in each room then my rating of this stay would be much much much higher.

It’s adequate for a night or two if you must be right there. If you are a surfer, it’s a perfect location. Rooms have no air conditioning which matters in the afternoon only on most days. If you need to be there and your budget is tight then it’s fine. If you want to enjoy your lodging, pick another place.
Waited hours for our rooom cuz of plumbing issues til they finally gave us a room- no shower curtain, missing door trim, no outlets to plug phones or anything in, hella ghetto- but it’s across the street from the beach n restaurants n stuff, so a great location.
They are in the process of fixing up stuffs, new owners, I think- but yeah, lame we had to wait around for hours til a different room. Why they didn’t just give us that room in the first place is a bit annoying…*screams*
Really close to the beach, so location is amazing. No air, but fans are provided.

Best part about this motel is that you can walk to the beach and you don’t have to worry about parking. Not too clean, towels smelled of mold, they didn’t clean my room and TV didn’t work.
