The best area to stay in San Cayetano is the beachfront promenade, particularly around the Paseo Marítimo and the streets immediately inland.

This area is the heart of San Cayetano, offering direct access to the main sandy beach and the calm, clear waters of the Mediterranean. The Paseo Marítimo is a long, flat walkway lined with palm trees, superb for strolls, and it's where you'll find a wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The streets just behind the promenade are home to many of the town's hotels and holiday rentals, all within a short walk of the sea.

Couples often find this area ideal for a relaxing getaway. The convenience of having the beach on your doorstep, coupled with numerous dining options ranging from casual tapas bars to more refined seafood restaurants, means you can enjoy romantic evenings and unhurried days by the sea. The nearby marina, a short walk along the promenade, offers opportunities for boat trips and watersports.

Families with children will also appreciate the beachfront location. The main beach is known for its gentle slope into the sea, making it suitable for young swimmers, and there are often play areas along the Paseo Marítimo.

The best time to visit San Cayetano is typically from late spring, around May, through to early autumn, in September.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant warm weather with plenty of sunshine, great for enjoying the region's outdoor activities and beaches. The sea temperatures are also ideal for swimming from June onwards. While July and August are the hottest and busiest months, they're also when San Cayetano truly comes alive with events and a lively buzz, especially appealing to families and those who enjoy a vibrant holiday atmosphere.

For travellers looking for a slightly quieter experience with comfortable temperatures, May, June, and September are excellent choices. You'll still benefit from the lovely weather without the peak season crowds, allowing for a more relaxed exploration of San Cayetano's charming streets and local eateries.
