The facilities available at the property for location and value for money were excellent! We didn’t do the buffet breakfast as this was 28 EUR pp but the gym and sauna were excellent and the check in and check out experience incredibly efficient also. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had an excellent night’s sleep - would come back!

This is a lovely family owned property located conveniently close to the train station. The comfort room was spacious and tidy, equipped w a water kettle and assortment of teas. Beds were comfortable (sheets slightly rough) but blankets had a good weight to them. Breakfast was a great assortment of hot and cold foods w eggs/omelette/benedict made to order. Many ingredients were organic as well. A great value - I definitely would stay again!

We were very impressed at this hotel. It was a very short walk to the old town part. We enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully decorated and was spacious enough for our family of 3+dog. They had a beautiful garden area on the side. The only confusing thing this was figuring out where the parking garage was and how to exit/enter back into the hotel. You can eventually figure it out but it took a minute.

The hotel was nicely renovated with quirky details but still filled with rich history. We love the small details and the amenities and also the complementary wellness zone with sauna was a nice touch. The location being walking distance to the station was also great because we can carry our heavy luggages without much trouble. And although it is next to a busy road, it wasn’t noisy or chaotic once we entered the building.

We just did a two week trip between five European cities and our stay in Salzburg was by far the best of our trip. We loved everything about our stay at the Design Hotel zum Hirschen Salzburg. The room was comfortable and quiet, the bathroom felt private, and the staff were very friendly. Next time we are in Salzburg, this is where we will stay.

Most ideal location, with less of a corporate feel and an ambience that will appeal to travelers looking to unwind. The property is well maintained, small to mid-sized, and shows excellent attention to detail, with tasteful artistic touches both inside and outside the rooms. Rooms are comfortable, with spacious, well-appointed bathrooms and effective noise-reducing windows. The front desk staff are courteous, professional, and well trained, and both check-in and check-out are efficient. A few suggested improvements, none of which are deal breakers: when guests ask for a taxi to the train station, it may be helpful to mention that the station is only a short block away—even walking at a leisurely pace, it takes about 5–7 minutes. The A/C may also struggle somewhat during hotter European summer days. The front entrance offers limited protection from heavy rain, so a canopy might be a worthwhile addition, and some flowers or greenery could make the entrance more inviting. Overall, an excellent stay. I would definitely stay here again and would readily recommend it to others.
