The "Houses of Pierre in Périgord", offer to you « Les Maisons d’Antan » (i.e. the houses of days gone) , consist of two dwellings dating back to the 18th century. It is classificated five stars by the Tourism Minister and is allocated on different levels. They were built in traditional stones and slates of the region and a regional interior decorator totally renovated and refurbished them. She enhanced the feeling of intimacy and privacy that emanates from the place and gave a new touch to the different rooms though respecting the regional spirit that is present in a monumental fireplace for instance. At the same time, a regional renowned landscape gardener designed the gardens.The property is near the capital of prehistory, les Eyzies de Tayac, whitch is listed by Unesco World Heritage of Humanity. Here was born the science of prehistory, thanks to excavations that started in 1863 and last until today. The cave paintings of Lascaux, a unique presentation of prehistoric art, displays Cro Magnon's life as hunter and artist, as warrior and painter, an inestimable insig.

The house was spacious and had everything you would need and more. Very quiet and peaceful and the location was perfect , halfway between Montignac and the prehistoric sites and Sarlat and the Dordogne River. Florence the caretaker was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Highly recommend

Apart from an mis communication between the owner and the housekeeper re our arrival - which was quickly sorted out stay was faultless. The property oozes French charm and luxury with all the amenities that you require. The bedroom are spacious and extremely comfortable all with en-suite’s. The pool was lovely with a large shallow area for the young children. Florence the housekeeper was lovely and on hand to answer our questions. The property’s very remote with nothing within walking distance - however many lovely places to visit within a 40 min drive. The historic town of Sarlet only about 15min away is a must to visit and has a large supermarket petrol station shopping restaurants etc. But if you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is most definitely the place.

The property was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and excellent kitchen. Pool was very nice and welcome during very hot days. Easy to get to Saint Genies and Montignac and other nearby villages. Would have liked a larger TV in lounge to watch the Olympics, and a satellite connection that worked. Florence, who prepared and greeted us, was delightful.

Charmantes maisons très bien décorées et très bien équipées. L’accueil de Florence était parfait.Elle s’est montrée très disponible à nos sollicitations. Les échanges avec Marie étaient très faciles.La maison est située dans un environnement très calme et à proximité des sites du Sarladais. Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans cette maison idéale pour les familles avec enfants et connaissant des rythmes horaires différents 😃

Nous étions 5 couples. La maison est très confortable, authentique et très bien décorée . Chaque chambre possède sa salle de bains et wc privatif . Grande et très belle cuisine bien équipée . Espaces extérieurs pour se divertir . Jolie piscine et matériel . Laurence est une personne efficace réactive et attentionnée . De plus, St génies est un magnifique village .

2 maisons magnifiques, authentiques , dans une jardin clos très bien agence et plein de charme , coin piscine très agréable . 2 Terrasses extérieures pour les repas et apéritifs permettant de varier les plaisirs Maison très bien équipée , grande cuisine lumineuse à l’ancienne , jolies chambres avec salle de bains pour chacune , Idéale pour famille ou amis nombreux . Environnement superbe et propriété très bien située pour profiter des sites touristiques alentours très riches . C’était parfait

Propriété très bien aménagée et très agréable. Nous étions 10 adultes et sa grande surface, son aménagement et son équipement ont été très appréciés. Je jardin est bien entretenu et agréable. Seul bémol la piscine, pourtant chauffée, pourrait être plus chaude. La méteo ayant été un peu capricieuse lors de notre séjour nous n'avons pas pu vraiment en profiter. Une belle location que je recommande sans hésiter.

Our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) enjoyed a lovely week at this property. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the property was just as pictured. We visited during the “heat wave of 2019”. The house stayed cooler than expected during 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) but we were greatful for the pool. The property manager, Florence, met us at check in to show us around and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the market in Saint-Genies and explored Sarlat-la-Canéda.
