"Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. It felt safe, secure, and clean, with a great location for exploring Hokkaido. Within roughly 1–1.5 hours in different directions are many great points of interest. We especially loved Lake Toya. There’s also nearby shopping, high-end shopping, and resorts.
The kitchen and living room were great, Wi-Fi was excellent, and we loved the soaking tub and bathrooms.
There were some frustrations. Upon arrival, finding our unit was confusing because the numbers on the doors didn’t correspond with the unit number we were given. The garbage bin was also quite small for two adults and a four-year-old.
Our biggest issue was the bedroom. A large glass window in the living room has no blackout curtains. Also, sliding glass doors separate the bedroom from the living room, providing virtually no privacy, noise reduction, or light control. Highway headlights flash into the unit at night, morning light comes through at dawn, and even the TV lights up the sleeping area. This largely defeats the blackout curtains elsewhere. Not to mention an exit sign eerily casts a green light all night.
One night, another unit also had a very loud party continuing well past 10 PM. The noise became disruptive enough that we were close to calling the police.
Lastly, the towels and toilet paper felt surprisingly thin and cheap. Despite these issues, the property itself was comfortable, well located, and a good base for exploring the area."
