A generous, nutritionally balanced breakfast buffet—which we’d be happy to serve you on our sunny terrace—will set the perfect tone for the day ahead. We also offer a sauna, a children’s playground, a sunbathing lawn, and garage parking. Round out your day with a speciality coffee on our large panoramic terrace or in the Almlounge. Our new “Familiennest” holiday apartment, featuring a stunning panoramic view, has been furnished with an alpine flair, showcasing a lot of craftsmanship and attention to detail. (Opening Winter 23/24) Thanks to the locally sourced wood and the fireplace, it exudes warmth and cosiness. The large windows and skylights invite you to daydream and linger. With its two bedrooms, it’s ideal for families or couples. The cosy living area with a large couch and dining area, the fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and oven, and the bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, double sinks, and a separate toilet will make your holiday a dream come true. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the guesthouse and features an east-facing balcony with a view of the valley and a west-facing balcony that catches the evening sun.
The Steinberger Hof is centrally located in the heart of the Chiemgau Alps. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast, someone seeking peace and quiet, or a culture lover, there’s something for everyone here. Set out on one of the countless hiking or biking tours to the Ruhpolding alpine pastures and summit hikes right from your doorstep, or explore the surrounding attractions: Herrenchiemsee, Königsee, the salt mine in Berchtesgaden, the old salt works in Bad Reichenhall, the Chiemgau Arena in Ruhpolding, or Salzburg. Explore the surrounding mountains in comfort using the Unternberg chairlift, the Hochfelln cable car, the Dürnbachhorn chairlift at the Winklmoosalm, or the Hochschwarzeckbahn in Berchtesgaden.
Enjoy skiing at Westernberg, 1 km from the farm; the Unternberg Lift, 3 km from the farm; or the Kessellift. For more athletic skiers, the Winklmoos/Steinplatte ski area is easily accessible by ski bus. Our cross-country ski trails start right outside the front door, or you can visit the lake area, the Winklmoosalm, or the Hemmersuppenalm. You can set out on snowshoe tours, winter hikes, or ski tours directly from the house or from the Steinberg Alm.
