"Basic check in with no welcome or hotel explanation, room wasn’t vacuumed, tv didn’t work- kept turning itself off. Given an accessible room even though didn’t need or want it. Around the pool lots of tiles missing, no one working at pool bar. For the money it’s not worth it. "
"Pros: direct access to Pinky Beach, The Basin, Bathurst Lighthouse - as in literally in front of the hotel. Beds are comfortable. Quokkas plenty around.
Cons: don’t expect full hotel service. Staff’s great but the people who are serving you drinks are also the people at the reception. You will have to wait patiently. For international travellers, sockets are not universal and they do not have charger adapters on loan so pls consider before travelling.
Breakfast was okay but nothing to rave about if I’m honest.
if you need your food reheated you will have to microwave it for a few minutes/cycles. The power is not good enough. Maybe part of their ecohotel energy saving initiatives.
The biggest con for me is that if you need something, you’ll have to walk your way to reception but after 10pm, you’ll have to call the Discovery Resorts hotline number and NOBODY PICKS UP - only voicemail. It’s 2026 - why they don’t have a whatsapp or online platform , I don’t know.
We stayed 2 nights - our smoke alarm was sounding off at weird hours like 6am. First day, reported to receptionist but not fixed. Next morning alarm sounded off at 3am many times, disturbing our sleep. Called the hotline number, only voicemail. "
"The hotel foyer, restaurant and exterior give off a classy 5 star establishment as is the price per nights but the rooms do not live up to that.
Beds are comfortable but the rooms look tired. Bathrooms still have showers over the baths which are difficult to get in and out of.
No decent coffee (pod machine) or tea in the rooms. A must at all good establishments. Just the very cheap variety
Room faced the street and although there was a balcony it wasnt somewhere pleasant to sit ."
