"Staff were very helpful. There are some renovations ongoing at the moment. I was initially given a room that was still being renovated, so walked into a room with dust sheets on the floor and missing furniture. Staff were very apologetic and gave me 2 complimentary drinks at the bar while they prepared another room. Breakfast was amazing, really good quality and delicious"

"Lift was out of order. Door card didn't work so had to go back to reception. Bloke on reception didn't apologise for the card not working, just told me "it is working" despite the fact that I had just tried it! He finally sorted and just shoved it back at me. Thank you! Room was extremely warm (we stayed May Bank Holiday and we certainly did not have a heatwave!). One bed was horribly soft with no support whatsoever. Pillows were very poor quality and almost non existent. Hotel was extremely noisy - there must have been a few families staying at the same time who knew each other as the kids were running between rooms, up and down the corridors shouting and screaming, banging on the doors and parents were shouting to each other from one end of the hallway to the other to "talk" to each other. Finally quietens down and we get woken up in the early hours by a couple of blokes who have clearly had an awesome night out. They spent ages in the corridors having a very loud discussion about their pub*c hair and then singing about it! Have stayed before but won't book again after this. There must have been a change of ownership for it to have gone down hill so quickly"

"Efficient check in process late in the evening. I asked for decaff tea bags and milk at the reception desk. One of the ladies there brought them herself soon after we got to our room. Nice breakfast for an additional fee the next morning. Location was great with the hotel being a few minutes away from the train station"

"The rooms were lovely and clean, parking was not intuitive but the staff put us right as soon as we checked about it. The breakfast was not our typical food, although the coffee was great. We would stay again as the location was perfect for our needs and the staff excellent."
