Communication with the host was excellent and she quickly responded to our questions and needs. The kitchen was well stocked, the table size was great for meal time and games, and we were all comfortable with showers and beds.
The house deck needs attention- some boards need replaced and screws were sticking up above the decking. The grill was filthy and the handle needs work.
The trek to the lake isn’t easy. The handrail on the stairs is extremely smooth preventing a good grip, the path is steep, slick, and has loose chat- one of our group twisted her ankle on the first day.We rented the house in part because it named a “dock” in the title.
The dock housed the kayaks- which were very nice, however, the dock is NOT safe and needs maintenance. We pulled our boat out nightly but used the dock get to the kayaks and to house our lily pad, noodles etc. There are multiple exposed nails and uneven boards leading to splinters and falls. The bumpers are either nonexistent or need replaced. Improvements to the dock-even adding a ladder would make for a better experience.
The private launch was very busy on the weekend leaving no place to park the truck and trailer.
The small cliffs were perfect for jumping— easy for our little people. We did have a great stay. This review is intended to offer potential renters a more clear understanding of water access and dock usage. If the house is all that is needed- it was great.
