Ginger cat hotel!

Gita provided great hospitality. Her hotel is animal and family friendly. From bringing a cat to the trip, she helped us and our animal be comfortable. She was very informative about the things to go and places to eat in the area. Only a few minutes to Watkins glen state park and the Seneca wine trail! We also got to see fireflies for the first time right in the backyard! Also, her vegan breakfast dishes were very good.

We were warmly greeted, the house very clean. It is out in the country, so very quiet at night. the food was amazing I'm not vegan, but loved everything she made. And was the best was visits with her cats, they not allowed in the guest area for obvious reasons, but she did let come in to her area for some quality kitty time. The house is located 5 miles from Watking Glen, close winery, and the lakes, lots of things to do.

SUPER CLEAN!!! Gita is a wonderful host! She called us a day before and asked if we have any food allergies. Good organic breakfast, locally made bread, fruits from her own garden and great coffee (almost impossible to find even in five star hotel). Great location, 4-5 miles from Marina, wonderful garden, smell of roses, caring but unobtrusive owner. We were given our own set of keys and piece of privacy. If you are coming with a boat, trailer or both, there is enough free parking in front of the house. We were traveling amidst pandemic and I couldn’t make a better choice in terms of accommodation. I felt safe and comfortable in this tiny B&B.. If you are looking for a romantic gateway or a pleasant family trip-this is a perfect place. I am a spoiled NewYorker with an extensive travel record but still, I would give this place 10 out of 10. Thank you Gita and we will definitely be back!

A beautiful tranquil setting located close to everything...minutes from Montour Falls and Watkins Glen, plus very close to Farm Sanctuary! Gita is a marvelous host who was very gracious and helpful with all of my questions. Her Vegan fare is to die for, and her knowledge on going vegan was so helpful. Very quiet and peaceful, and so enjoyable!

Ginger Cat during Hoe Down

We were in town for Farm Sanctuary's Hoe Down and stayed at Ginger Cat for three nights. It was a lovely place to stay and we would certainly stay there again.

A sanctuary for all souls

I was visiting Farm Sanctuary and needed a compassionate place to stay. As you know anyone can offer a bed and a place to retire for the evening. The Ginger Cat was so much more than that. Gita, the proprietress, was informative, helpful and understanding of my specific issues. Upon arrival I was greeted with a homemade peanut butter chocolate vegan delight as well as a fig bar. I was having some medical issues and she was kind enough to bring my suitcases into my room for me despite it only being up five steps. The breakfast that greeted me was among the most delicious I've ever had. Not only was the tofu tarts, fresh asparagus, fresh salad, vegan parfait (and excellent bread) extraordinarily delicious and totally vegan but I was satiated for the whole day! Having recently become vegan this is a much needed eye-opener on how I can sustain and thrive on my vegan diet. Of course that is not the Ginger Cat's mission statement. I assume their mission statement is to provide a wonderful experience (not just an educational one). They hit a homerun on both fronts and I look forward to being in the presence of this magical place again, hopefully soon.

This is the best place to stay in NY. My wife and I have been returning every year for 8 years and have fallen in love with this little gem. The food is incredible and Gita is an outstandingly wonderful host. You will likely love it here as we do.

Rare Vegan Find!

Lovely, quiet place to stay very close to the Farm Sanctuary. Run by a sweet woman who is also a wonderful cook. Very lucky to find a special vegan friendly place to stay. We'll be back!

A peaceful retreat! And it's vegan!

My 2 dogs and I were welcomed with open arms to this beautiful vegan oasis! The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable and the food was outstanding! We also enjoyed spending time in the beautiful garden. I highly recommend a visit to Farm Sanctuary, only minutes away, where you will meet all kinds of animals rescued from this animal agriculture industry. I will be back!

Very cozy place!

This was a cute place and exactly what I'd imagine a b&b to be like. You are a guest in someone's home, so the charms of the home come through during your stay. I got my 'cat fix' in as well and was able to pet the three kitties that live there before I left. There was a hot, full breakfast served right on time, and the room was comfortable to sleep in. The bathroom included shampoo/conditioner/soap, which was great!

Exactly what a B&B should be!

Our stay at Ginger Cat was perfect. Gita struck the perfect balance between being welcoming and friendly, and giving us space to ourselves. It was great to get to know her, to meet her cats, and to get her advice about everything from local wineries to vegan winter clothing! The bed was very comfortable, everything was immaculately clean. There are two rooms available, one shared bathroom, and a shared breakfast/common room. We were also welcome to sit out on the porch. It was a perfect spot to enjoy our wine and watch the stars come out. On weekends (including Monday morning) Gita puts on an amazing spread for breakfast. We feasted on fresh local fruits, granola, perfectly ripe avocado, vegan omelette, vegan sausage and peppers - everything delicious. Can't wait to stay here again!

Great Option for Watkins Glen (June 2017)

Gita is a welcoming host and great cook. The breakfast both mornings were delicious for both vegans and non-vegans. The location of the house is perfect, as it is a short drive to the main Watkins Glen attractions, and just far enough away to be peaceful and for the dark skies to allow you to see an incredible night sky.

absolutely amazing!

My girlfriend and i just had a one night stay at he ginger cat, and it was fantastic. Gita made us feel right at home from the get go. Gave us great recommendations for dining around the area. We found this place on the happy cow app. We came up to watkins glen for the state park, but staying at the ginger cat put the icing on the cake. Gita's cooking is out of this world too. Probably the best breakfast i've ever had. You just cant beat a place that is vegan and also has cats. I cannot wait until i am in the area again, i will be sure to stay again!!! Steve and Jess

I highly recommend staying here wether you are vegan or not. The food is delicious, the area is quiet and beautiful, and the rooms are cute and clean. Gita and the cats are wonderful and make you feel right at home. Love this place and will definitely be back.

The house and room were wonderful, as was the food. Gita is very kind and friendly. This place is really something special. And the cats are adorable!
