"My family and I had a wonderful stay at Joyful Escape. The home looked just as it did online. The property was beautiful and the environment was very peaceful. Everyone that stayed and those that came for our gathering was amazed, some asking how did I find this place. WE LOVE IT!"

"House was good! couple minor things but nothing that was detrimental to our stay. Contact with the guest contact was terrible, I called Saturday and never got a call back during our 7 day stay!"

"The host was very accommodating and answered all of our pre-trip questions so we knew just exactly what we needed, or more importantly didn’t need, to bring with us. Communication didn’t end there. After our arrival, every time we had a question we had a response within about five minutes. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the grill was brand new! We stayed here over 2026 graduation weekend for Longwood University. The accommodations were perfect for the 11 of us! Only about 15 or 20 minutes from the campus and we had all the comforts of home. We had a little post graduation get together at the swimming pool and enjoyed the provided s’more‘s kit around the fire pit. The pool house outdoor Wi-Fi speakers were a great plus. The game room in the basement was a huge hit with the middle and high schoolers that came with us. The nice, quiet surroundings were so relaxing! We even got to know one of the owners who stopped by to see how things were going. My husband and son enjoyed chatting with him. My grown son said he could live there forever. His idea of the perfect home! We don’t have any more graduations, coming anytime soon, but will come up with another reason to visit again!"

"The house is larger than it appears in the photos and has everything you would need. We were in town for our daughter's wedding and we filled the house with the Bridal party and our family. There is soo much character everywhere in the house. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were large, the kitchen had every amenity I could ask for. Our POC for the house, Megan, was soo accommodating. The wedding date shifted by 2 months when the military had other plans for her fiancé, and we were allowed to shift our reservation without extra cost. Then we wanted to come in a day early to get ready, so she let us add a day. At the end the wedding wrap up ended late and we asked for late check out, which she again granted. It was a wonderful stay and I'd stay here again, but maybe without the pressures of wedding next time."
