one night stay, it was good
The property was clean and had the facilities to be able to cook a roast meal, plenty of room for the two of us. Pleasant weekend stay helped by great weather in Riversdale.

special treat after illness
Disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit, had to wash all kitchen equipment including crockery and utensils, mice droppings all through cupboards and under microwave, in broom closet. Vacuum Cleaner so clogged up had to use screwdriver to disperse before could use it. Unit could do with good spring clean, bed linen clean and beds very comfortable.

We had a fleeting visit to the stunning Riversdale for a wedding, this place was a perfect spot for the night. Simple, clean and very accessible. Communication was spot on, and very accommodating when I asked if we could check in earlier!

Beautiful spot
Beautiful location and this home is nice and close to everything. The air con from the heat pump was much appreciated on the hot summer days. This house is pretty basic, nothing flash but had everything we needed.

Lovely stay
This place was clean and tidy. Completely fenced so our small dog could be outside without worrying. The place is great value for money. Nice and quiet. The beach is an easy walk from here .

Annual Riversdale visit!
Great stay as always! Only a minor fyi - we noticed more sediment in the water than usual from the tank. Not a big deal but wanted to let you know.

nice but could improve on cleanliness
It is nice to have somewhere affordable to take your pets, however the overall cleanliness of the property could have been much better. Surfaces and linen were clean but the tops of walls were covered in cobwebs and inside of the cupboards and the dishes were left a little grubby - so needed re-washing before we could use. Overall, the place was nice - but would have wanted it a little cleaner to stay again.

Brillant place to stay with the dogs. They loved it so much along with us, that they didn't want to leave. They even tried to get back into the unit when we had vacated it and it was being cleaned. Definitely keen to come here again.

Fabulous relaxing get-away
We had a great time - the house is super and the location is great for walks to the beach and around the village. It's the perfect place to take your dog with a very safe fully fenced garden. We have stayed several times and are never disappointed.

Great location but could use some improvements
This property is in a lovely location and it’s great that it’s pet friendly, however, there were dog hairs all over the carpet and furniture. I think the property could use a good vacuum cleaner left on site as we tried the one there but it wasn’t very effective. One of the dining room chairs was also broken when we got there. While there is a good sized outdoor space it is incredibly bare and feels pretty unloved. Beds were comfy and kitchen facilities were good.

Needs update
The place needs an up grade,we arrived after traveling all day to find no coffee or sugar, we spent 2 nights with the next door flat so noisy as wall were to thin had to tell them to keep it down,went to do washing an empty box where powder should be ,got the machine to work we though it was going to take off through the roof ,so we though couldn't get any worse we thought lets cook on the barbecue, couldn't get that to work never mind the bottle was empty remembering we nearly an hour away from masterton oh the shower pressure was so bad we waited to get home to wash our hair.want be staying again...oh the dogs loved the beach

Great to have a property with a fully fenced good sized yard that the dogs could run around & enjoy (without me worrying about them damaging plants etc). Bach was comfortable and suited us well.

Great experience, would stay again
All the home comforts we're used of, and we could bring our well behaved fur baby. Lounge seating and bed both excellent. The heat pump was an essential for our winter stay. Great base for coastal walks and very close to the beach. We brought all our food with us, the local dairy has only the very bare essentials.

We totally enjoyed our stay, the photo’s don’t do this lovely little place justice! Super clean and tidy with lovely up to date furniture. The beds were comfortable and heaps of spare blankets. Had heat pump and other heater too. Shot walk to the beach. Seperate toilet from the bathroom and the bathroom and laundry were large. A huge backyard for a dog to be safely let out.

Awesome stay
We were welcomed with a warm house (because we arrived late) which was very kind and much appreciated. The house had everything we needed and a big(!) garden for the dog. Just a block away from the sea with beatiful beach and dunes to walk. We absolutely loved it and will definitely back again.

It was perfect for us and the dogs. The property was off the road and completely secure for our two small dogs. It was great for a couple wouldnt recommend for a family a bit too small but we would definitely stay again 😁

This is a great place to stay esp with dogs. We have 3 big dogs and the yard was extremely well fenced and the property was well appointed catering to the needs of all. The property was clean and tidy and I found the Michelle to be prompt with communication and instructions. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely bach for hanging out on very rainy day; sad the surf didn’t cooperate, but that’s NZ summers! Very clean place, well-stocked kitchen for cooking and baking. Michelle was very responsive to our questions/needs. My only surprise (and granted I did not check amenities closely) is the lack of wifi-only noticeable because I wanted to download a book. Thank you for a lovely time -the new queen sized bed was very comfortable and nice having linens and towels

Our first stay in Riversdale
Michelle was super easy to communicate with so we knew exactly what to expect. The house was clean and had all it needed for our stay. The garden was perfect for our dog Carlos and the beach (where we were mostly by ourselves!!) was incredible and only a lovely short walk away. Good for a short visit
Very cold in winter, very hot in summer. It smelt like stinky vacum cleaner. Fridge still too small. Need some handy work. Stayed a few times now. Great you can take you fur baby, and correspondence with the host is always really good. Water pump stopped working in the wind when the shed door slammed and knocked the power out. Needs some attention. Happy for your not to post this, bit I needed to be honest. I hope that I have not offended anyone. Thank you

Riversdale Beauty at Matariki
This was a lovely place to stay, central to everything, a short walk to the beautiful beach and local shop. The apartment was clean and warm and pet-friendly meaning all the family could come and play in a fenced and escape-proof area. It was very cold outside but snug and warm inside.
