Cozy Cabin with an amazing deck and beautiful seasonal views of Lake Fort Smith!

"The Red Star Cabin was an ideal spot for a 3-night getaway from work as it started cooling off outside. The seclusion was ideal, though the road leading to the property is not one I would want to drive on with a sports car or with almost any vehicle with snow on the ground. My 2016 Prius handled it like a champ in September. My only non-wildlife visitor was a curious dog from up the road, but he took off back home before I could say hello. The cabin was very comfortable and well-stocked. There seemed to be more kitchenware than I could see in the photos, so that worked out great! To lock the front door, just press and hold any button for 2 seconds. I didn't see that in the documentation. The surrounding area is beautiful and a lovely drive in any direction, though I-49 won't put you as close to the foliage despite its better overlooks. Fort Smith, Fayetteville and Devil's Den State Park are each about a 30 minute drive in different directions, so it feels centrally located. Also, Crawford is a DRY COUNTY. If you want beer, wine or liquor for the cabin, plan accordingly. I would also top off the gas within 2 hours of arriving along your route so you have the flexibility to drive without worry and then get back down the road before you have to worry about filling up again. I love visiting new places, but I will definitely be checking vacancy of Red Star on my next visit to NW Arkansas!"

"Great location for a rest. Perfect size for a single traveler and a dog. I got to see a lot of interesting local wildlife. The tiny house was well organized and had everything that I needed. Thank you for a great trip. By the way, that was a raccoon setting off the barn light."

"We would love to come back! Loved the soaking claw-foot tub and b&w decor in our room. A few minor things: When we booked via hotels.com it mentioned a welcome gift with the room we chose (#11) but there wasn't anything. It also felt a bit like the place was left to its own devices... breakfast list mentioned yogurt, but there was none. However, there was oatmeal and coffee. The place was so quiet and clean. We met Eve (not the owner) who has the Apothecary next door and she was lovely! We were the only ones renting the night we stayed so we had the entire place to ourselves. Be prepared that there is nothing around. I mean NOTHING. So you'll have to take a short drive in to eat dinner etc., which was fine with us. Overall, a very unique place to stay! It felt like taking a trip back to the 1800s and LOVED not having any TV in sight! Sad to know it's up for sale... I hope the new owners will keep it as is."

"Great experience. My wife and I are both teachers, and wanted a little get away where we could have plenty of quiet and beautiful nature. The property itself is very cool! But the view is so peaceful and serene, it’s just what we had hoped for. And no one near us, just the sounds of nature and that was it. We will rent this property again!"
