Bed and Breakfast in Ripon

"enjoyed our stay, we were in the loft room, ok but steep stairs at top floor. the room had all you needed for a self catering stay if you wanted. we opted for breakfast. Breakfast was perfect, one of the nicest cooked breakfasts i have had in a long while. the service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. good location, i would stay here again no problem. only small thing was there was no hook on back of bathroom door for clothes, this is always guest houses forget, just a little thing but...

"The Bootham Tavern was a very good location for the city. The Staff were lovely and polite. The Breakfast was a bargain. Only downside was the radiator in the bathroom was constantly on with no thermostat to turn it off and the summer temp was 20 plus degrees outside so difficult to sleep as it was boiling in the room. Other than that we enjoyed our stay"

"Lovely stay at Old Hall Inn. The reception when we arrived was friendly and efficient and our room was clean and comfortable with everything you would need. It was also quiet and we were not disturbed at all. After settling in we went down to the bar for an evening meal which was delicious and freshly cooked, and the choice of food was excellent. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and like the evening meal was delicious. Old Hall Inn is certainly a place that we will return to again. "

"Jamie was most helpful, close to York racecourse and plenty of shops close by. Nice pub, The Volunteer 2 minutes round the corner. Only downside was the shower, nothing wrong with the shower itself but the floor was slippy and could do with a mat as I did slip over, luckily no damage but someone could have a nasty accident."

"Newly refurbished accommodation was to a very high standard. The bar also serves as a dining room and is not ideal in that mode, but the bar and other pub rooms are so traditional that the ambiance is extradinary. One could quite believe that it hasn’t changed at all in last 200 years!"

"Great, friendly/welcoming bar/front of house staff it makes a difference. Room was comfortable with a great shower, fluffy towels and very clean. Sunday lunch and the Thai fish cakes were tasty along with a good English breakfast. Very nice area and some awesome country walks nearby, a definite return when travelling up north. "

"Mark is a wonderful host who really cares about your experience. The rooms are comfortable with a fridge and iron just outside if you require them. The breakfast is delicious and dietary requirements are well researched and catered for which is very much appreciated The bed is comfy with nice full pillows and duvet. There is a heater to keep you toasty when it’s cold in June! The location is excellent for Thirsk centre and right next to a big Tesco. The only thing missing was a full length...

Nice extra touches i.e. fresh milk provided on arrival, biscuits, still and sparkling water, good selection of tea, coffee, chocolate drinks etc. Got to give the staff here a big thumbs up, no complaints whatsoever on this front. We stayed in room 7 and the only two disappointments was the en-suite barthroom, which was very small and the grout around the outside of the shower and the door seals was really grim and needs addressing We ate in the evening and breakfast, got to...

"I think the location is great. It’s close to the train station and the city center. Easy to walk to and from town. The breakfast was good, the staff is very friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place and come back if I go back to York in the future."
