Overall the hotel was a great stay. It did have the spice and herbs smell to it though. The toilet paper in the room had a brown watermark; which wasn't a biggie because they had a fresh roll in there.

Pool and downstairs bathroom were out of order. Obviously the property was not well maintained. Looks like a gunshot in one of the downstairs windows. The staff were very kind and helpful though.

The hotel was not as shown on the pictures. It was run down and smelled. The furniture was old and had stains on it. The bed was very uncomfortable. Other guest upstairs were loud and sounded as though they were running across the floor all night long. We went out to go to the car and someone had been smoking pot and there was a very strong smell of it upon going out and coming back in. There were people hanging out in the parking lot with loud music at one point. The coffee maker was broken and would not work. Some of the lights in the room would not work and had wires hanging out. Would not stay there again. Very disappointed.

the room appeared clean but very obvious peeling wallpaper, rusty sprinklers on walls, bathroom —- basically appears like it has a bandaid over a bad injury that needs stitches! smelled like burnt toast. honestly, if i wasn’t exhausted i would’ve hit the road, jack! staff was very friendly

I have lived in Chester for 6 yrs and was just visiting. I did see terrible reviews, but the only issue I experienced was a strong smell of must, moldy scent. I am not sure if it were the carpet, AC unit, or vent. The AC looks like it needs cleaning. Otherwise, the stay was affordable and fine. The staff was pleasant. There were no issues with check in. I have hyperosmia but perceived no cigarette odor. The unit was visibly clean except there were black areas on the light panel; unsure what it is. We slept well; I am sensitive to noise and didn’t have any issues with the noise. I heard the closing of the door early in the night, but it’s inevitable to not hear that or people conversing. I have stayed at facilities with higher ratings and hear people talking through the walls or in the hallways. Equally important, there were no safety issues. I would recommend probably advancing to wooden floors or freshening the carpet, and cleaning the AC. Chester is my 3rd home. I miss it.

I normally read reviews prior to booking however this a quick get out the house trip. Glad I decided to book before reading reviews the hotel was well maintained and managed! The only downside was breakfast options but for the price can't complain! Staff was friendly and room was clean and spacious would definitely book again!!!!
