Disliked: Cleanliness
So much potential, but a disappointing rental
Overall impression: neglected both inside and outside. Property mowed, but no foundation plantings and all once-garden beds overgrown. A large, treed back yard with various pieces of debris in several places. The house needs an updated kitchen. All the windows need washing. The dining room chandelier had only 2 bulbs out of 6 working. At least two chairs were damaged and looked to be broken. There was only an overhead light in the living room. Only one electrical outlet was visible. A floor lamp was placed behind a loveseat, but not plugged in. The area rug looked like it needed to be cleaned. The air conditioner was old, with a missing air baffle. There was a broken faucet in the bathroom, which Marissa had repaired the next day. The front steps are large slabs of slate, widely spaced with an old railroad tie as the bottom step. There needs to be a handrail. There was no dresser or mirror in the master bedroom. The old washstand had no knobs to open the doors. A welcome packet would have been appreciated letting a guest know about garbage pick-up, the wi-fi, operating the tv, and the odd setup for the outlets in the kitchen. I booked a 4-week stay since I was driving from SC to see friends in the area. My arrival was delayed two days due to a hurricane . When I got there on Monday afternoon the house had not been cleaned. Marissa sent two cleaners, but I asked them to leave at 9:00 because I was tired. They came back only when I insisted that the porch be thoroughly swept. The porch needs new sun shades, a paint job and general cleaning. The location is very good for exploring Rhinebeck and the neighboring towns, but it is not enough to bring me back.

Great stay
My friends and I had a great stay. The house was nicer in person than the photos presented. We loved the small touches and the beds were comfy! Great stay for a short and cozy weekend with friends!
