When is the best time to go to Regensburg?
For a comfortable and enjoyable visit to Regensburg, the best time to go is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October).During these months, the weather is typically mild and pleasant, with fewer crowds than the peak summer season. You'll find it ideal for exploring the city's historic streets and outdoor cafes. The days are long enough for sightseeing, but without the intense heat that can sometimes occur in July and August.Couples often find these shoulder seasons superb for a romantic getaway. Strolling along the Danube River, visiting the Regensburg Cathedral, or enjoying a quiet evening at a traditional Bavarian restaurant are all more comfortable when the weather is agreeable and the city isn't overly busy.Families travelling with children will also appreciate these times. The milder temperatures make walking around the Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, much more manageable for little ones.
