Comfortable bed and room and dining here was excellent but unfortunately not readily available unless you book well in advance. There was some confusion about booking the restaurant online in advance as you are not able to and must make your booking well in advance with the hotel by email. Hospitality and customer service could be improved.
The hotel was completely charming. The staff was friendly, welcoming and responsive to questions. It’s in a fantastic location, right in the city center, and breakfast in the restaurant was very good. Highly recommend.
Charming boutique accommodation in a French theme.
Hotel Orpheus was the most delightful stay. The room was absolutely charming, the decor and furniture in keeping with the vintage of the hotel, the artwork was lovely throughout the whole hotel, plenty of room, a thoughtful gift of a bottle of red wine and some water and nuts and great quality toiletries. Tick tick tick tick tick. A wonderful stay that we would not hesitate to recommend if you are keen on character stays rather than a chain motel. The restaurant downstairs also has a charm of its own.
👍 Our room was large with vaulted ceiling, beautuful exposed beams, view to town and large church tower, windows with fun, old world shutters. Comfortable beds with fluffy down comforters.
👎 Top floor not serviced with elevator from floor 4-5. Furnishings were a bit minimal and beds lacked sufficient pillows. Room had a faint off-putting scent. Hotel cannot be accessed via taxi or bus. ~.25 mile must be walked in due to pedestrian only area of old town where hotel is located.
Awakened at 1am to knocking at door for plumbing issues and required to pack up and move to sister hotel or not have bathroom access through the night and following morning.
The new room was less than half the size, smaller bed and no view or window to outside to regulate temperature.
The next day we went back to the original room to double check for any belongings left behind amidst 1:30am stupor combined with jet-lag, and were surprised to see no work being done either in our room or the room below, which is where our plumbing was supposed to be flooding. (The room was open for housekeeping and looked ready for business???)
Our stay was comped but our experience and recovery sleep were altered for a shared mother-daughter trip all the way from California and was not as desired even if it was free.
The restaurant and food were lovely-we enjoyed our breakfasts and a dinner in the bar (book ahead for dining room as it is a popular spot). The decor and vibe were intrinsic and palpable.
Quirky but good character. Getting close to hotel with heavy bags is very tricky

Disliked: Staff & service
Staff not that nice and directions to parking was really bad. Took me half hour to find it after they assured me would be easy to get to. And that was with gps.
There was no elevator for the last floor-- we had to carry very heavy suitcases.
Then-- no AC!! And it was very got. Only had windows without screens, and a floor fan.
