The holiday home "Am Oberteich" is situated in rural surroundings by a pond/lake (fishing in the lake is not permitted! - breeding waters). The village centre with tourist information and a blacksmith's shop is approx. 500 metres away. In the village itself there are shops such as Spar supermarket, farm shop, butcher, petrol station and hairdresser. For sporting activities there is a sports and fitness centre with tennis courts (indoor and outdoor), bowling alley, gym and sauna. Wholesale markets can be found in Bischofswerda, 5 kilometres away. One of the most beautiful country baroque complexes - the baroque Rammenau Castle - is in the immediate vicinity. It also houses a museum in memory of the philosopher Johann-Gottlieb Fichte, who was born in Rammenau in 1762. Concerts and events in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors and in the park, which is laid out in the English style, are a very special experience. Numerous signposted hiking trails have been laid out around Rammenau, providing interesting facts and legends. Day trips to the cities of Dresden, Bautzen and Kamenz with their many sights are also possible. The unique landscape of Saxon Switzerland with its national park, Elbe, hiking and climbing opportunities can be experienced in no time at all. Equally attractive is a trip to the Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape (UNESCO biosphere reserve), the Nochten boulder park or the Kleinwelka dinosaur park near Bautzen, which is not only attractive for children. The Upper Lusatian Highlands and the Zittau Mountains are just half an hour to an hour's drive away. A day trip to the Spreewald is also possible and recommended.the holiday home itself can accommodate up to 4 guests.
