We wanted a relaxing base for a familly wedding, we got that and so much more!
The house easilly accomodated the 9 of us and while the description could not be faulted, we also benefitted from the 2 brand new bathrooms which are a great addition.
Arranging it all with Laurence was a breeze, he even accomodated us wanting to extend our stay by an extra day. Bread, cheese and a chilled bottle of wine were a lovely welcoming touch and much appreciated.
Pujols is a lovely little village with some stunning views. The bells from the church next door provide the wake up call (7am), time for a short walk up the hill to pick up bread and croissants. The bells chime throughout the day ( no need for a watch!) but you quickly get used to them and they add to the charm. Getting everyone going before the heat of the day is also no bad thing!
Lunch at Chez Sylvie is a must (so good we did it 3 times!), with a short stroll back down the hill and an afternoon next to the pool, the perfect lazy day!
You need a car to explore the area but the roads are quiet and the supermarket only 10 minutes away.
We got to see some of the area as part of the wedding celebrations, wine tasting in St Emillion and caneoing on the Dordogne, all just a short drive away.
It is a lovely area and we want to come back and explore more. The Old School House is a perfect base and we would certainly stay there again.
