Excellent for the money

Good hotel for the money. Excellent location close to shops, restaurants and the beach. Excellent breakfast and dinner good for the money at £7 per person per day. No air conditioning and no fridge in the room which would be a benefit.

Lovely Traditional Hotel

Great stay at a really nice, small hotel. Friendly professional staff, clean rooms, nice pool and located walking distance from beaches and the old town. The buffet breakfast has a good variety and we plumped for the option with evening meal as the cost for 2, for the week, was so cheap and this was just okay in terms of the hot options (fish or meat all tasted the same). Beds were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. The Don Manolito deserves the high rating it gets!

A 3 star hotel with no AC but charm and good gym

The bad: small room, about 16m2, no fridge, no AC. Had to pay to access the safety deposit box in the room. The good: good service and communication. Good staff and cleaning. Excellent gym. Close to the beach promenade.

Nice hotel, but very disappointing stay overall. Rooms need upgrading and food was very poor. Stick with breakfast, do not go half board! Personally, would not stay again. Full review and detailed breakdown can be found on Google Maps.

The breakfast was incredibly poor, with hardly any variety. They're in Spain and they don't have a variety of ham, not even Serrano, which you'd find everywhere else in Spain. Dinner was awful and lacked variety, just a tiny menu. I paid an exorbitant price for a room and upon arrival, it was horrible, nothing like the one in the photo I used to book. It didn't even have air conditioning. I was assigned to the old building, but after three visits, I spoke to reception and was moved to the other building. The girl who checked me in gave me whatever room she felt like. I asked for one I knew was empty with a nice view and better airflow, and she told me it was for married couples. I don't know what I was then, she was quite rude, but I wanted to keep the peace. In my opinion, this hotel should only have one star.

3 star hotel , basic as you’d expect. Found the older man on reception pretty rude which wasn’t a good start , had to move rooms 2nd day as the sewage smell from the barhroom was disgusting. Younger man on reception didn’t sound surprised and moved us to the other side of the hotel which was fine , in all you get what you pay for it was ok.

Spotlessly clean and quiet

Don Manolito was a very good experience. Spotlessly clean everywhere, except one of our two rooms seems as to somebody have been smoking cigar inside.... Anyway, we immediately got another room, so no problem. Rooms and beds are good and it's very quiet during the night time. Breakfast is nice with a wide selection, although the juice is lemonade and not real fruit juice. There is a restaurant with an ok buffet. During our 1 weeks stay in January the clientele was mostly 60+ years of age Germans. The location is fine, but there is no dedicated parking lots. As for all Puerto de la Cruz parking is not that easy, although possible.

Disappointing

Bed was very comfortable, the room was a good size and had quality fittings, and the hotel was very clean and well presented. Staff were generally very pleasant, however we had to move rooms because of a plumbing issue, that the staff were clearly previously aware of, and the staff were slow in resolving the issue. We also found we had to run the hot water (in both rooms) for a long time before it ran hot, this was very frustrating and is clearly not eco friendly. Also, the shower water temperature was not consistent and the water pressure was too low to feel one had had a good shower. We regretted booking the breakfast, I didn’t bother after the first few days and ate elsewhere. We felt the quality overall was not very high and there should have been more variety of fruit. Also, we felt the layout was badly planned, and there was almost constant queuing for the drinks machines.

Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht.

Hotel ok aber locker 30% teurer als vergleichbare Hotels in der Nähe. Das Personal im Restaurant und an der Bar ist sehr gut. Alicia ist dabei besonders hervorzuheben: freundlich zuvorkommend und schnell wie der Wind. An der Rezeption wird dagegen sehr unprofessionell gearbeitet. Auch Freundlichkeit wird hier nicht groß geschrieben.(ausgenommen der Dame.) Alles in allem würde ich dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen. Für das Geld bekommt man mehr vor Ort und wenn einem der Standard dieses Hotels genügt, gibt es sehr viel günstigere Hotels mit selben Standard

Hôtel bien situé, près de la plage, des commerces et restaurants. Personnel d'accueil très aimable et serviable. Chambres un peu défraîchies mais en bon état. Petit déjeuner bon et copieux mais peu de produits frais en dehors des fruits.
