The most perfect location with everything you might need. Very cute condo, bonus points for the beautiful pool on the property. We only had a bit of trouble with parking on the first night but we got there late, so maybe plan to arrive before sunset if you want to have a spot. When renting, I prefer when the bed sheets and towels are white or a lighter color. Here they were all quite dark, but everything still looked super clean. The A/C at night was absolutely great. Being on the second floor gives you a nice little view on the ocean and makes it easier to avoid getting bugs or other little friends inside. Tony was also very helpful. Great spot, I highly recommend!

Perfect Kauai Oasis

Loved staying here for our week long stay in Kauai. The condo was spotless, bed was comfy and it stayed cool despite being warm outside. It's so serene and peaceful, plus having a kitchen at home was great to utilize for making meals when we didn't want to eat out. Tony was such a gracious host and made us feel right at home. He has a ton of beach things (towels, boogie boards, chairs, etc) that were super helpful.

Our family loved this clean condo! The unit was perfect for two adults and two young kids. Plenty of amenities, great location, and an extremely friendly and helpful host! Would definitely stay again. 10/10!

Wow!

Our stay was exceptional. The property was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It had a nice deck where we could enjoy drinks in the evening or have a quick breakfast before our day began. The kitchen was fully equipped, the living room was very comfortable, as was the bed and pillows. They also have a nice sized washer and dryer which came in very handy! It was the perfect spot and felt like our home away from home. Thank you!!

If you’re on the fence, but have decided on Princeville area and want A/C in the bedroom so you can guarantee you’ll sleep comfortably without the roosters waking you up at the crack of dawn, book Tony’s place before someone else can snag it. Princeville is an absolute treasure and Tony’s place is a gem. So many amenities for the price without the hustle and bustle of a resort. Warm pool that was never crowded, spotless communal grill with a sink/clean up area, beautiful views from the lanai, washer and dryer with detergent and a ton of beach gear including a cooler that was better than anything we’ve rented, boogie boards, many chairs and an umbrella that held strong on windy days. Not to mention Tony and his wife are the sweetest most down to earth hosts we’ve met on our travels - they live in the unit below and are close by to assist with anything or suggest beaches that the best guidebooks ignore. The icing on the cake was stargazing with Tony multiple nights with his super fancy telescopes. He’s eager to share his knowledge and if you’re into space (or know very little like me) you’re in for a real treat. Location is amazing for the many secluded and harder to get to beaches up north as well as some good eating in Hanalei or Kilauea. If you’re in the right season, you may see albatrosses in a nearby neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend to any family or friends heading to the amazing island of Kauai. Great place!

Lovely place to stay in Princeville. Very clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked amazing for the bedroom! Easy location to get to Hanalei and beaches. We had a great time with Tony and Judith and learned a lot about the stars and the moon.

Perfect spot!

This place is lovely. The area location is ideal, too - just a quick drive to Hanalei. the apartment was beautiful and clean - we especially loved the high ceilings. It was not cookie cutter and felt so homey!

Beautiful stay

We really enjoyed our time here! The owner and his wife are incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. The condo is well equipped with everything you need! We bought groceries at Safeway and made use of the BBQ by the pool. No one else was using it when we were there late January, early February. The decor is beautiful and the bed is comfortable. Definitely recommend! Mahalo ❤️

This rental was exactly as pictured! Tony was a exceptional host, and very responsive. It was extremely clean and well stocked. Wonderful location, quiet and a fabulous pool! Everything from cooler, towels, and all beach gear! Can't recommend enough! Very close to grocery store and local eateries.

Tony’s Guest Apartment

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Tony is an excellent host. The lodging was immaculate and Tony was very attentive to our needs and comfort. As has been mentioned by others, he is an accomplished amateur astronomer who will be very happy to share the gorgeous Hawaiian night sky with you.

Magical-Not Enough Superlatives

We stayed in 4 different places on 3 islands over 16 nights. Although we only stayed 3 nights here, we could have spent our entire time here. The area and Tony’s place were perfect. The condo was perfect; exceptionally clean, well maintained, and all things you might need were provided. The pictures do not do it justice. Tony was a fabulous host; very friendly, hospitable, and ready to provide suggestions and guidance on things to see and do around the area. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Kauai, we will DEFINITELY stay at Tony’s. (We hope this review doesn’t cause his condo to be too busy for our next stay.)

Looking for a gem in Kauai - look no further!

This Mona Kai condo in Princeville is perfect, really, in every way. An immaculate, beautifully decorated, welcoming, relaxing 1 BR condo less than a mile to Princeville Center (where you will find a market, some great little places to eat, a farmer’s market on Saturday’s, shops, post office etc. Tony, the owner, makes you feel like family the moment you meet him, and everything you need is at the condo. The fresh pineapple and salty treats in a basket was an extra “welcome” treat. Easy to get to beaches, the golf course, Hanalei and the Kilauea Light House, beautiful view off the lanai - always a gentle breeze. Book a astronomy night with Tony - amazing to see into the depths of space (we were lucky and saw 2 galaxies). Birdwatching - Laysan albatross, egrets, red crested cardinals, etc. Treat yourself and stay at the gem! Thanks again Tony for everything and many great memories - thanks for sharing your favorite spot in Hanalei - wishing you many quiet, beautiful moments!

Located in the Mauna Kai community in Princeville, this is a great place to stay if you're looking to mainly relax in north Kauai. We stayed here in mid October and it was very comfortable keeping the windows open and using the ceiling fans available throughout the unit. For those that tend to run hot, a window AC unit is available for the bedroom, but we didn't need it. Keep in mind that hearing the nature noises such as rainfall or roosters is part of the charm of keeping the windows open in a place like this. Since it is thriving condo community, there can be some noise from surrounding neighbors, but we weren't bothered by it. The main living area is very spacious and nicely updated. The hosts, Tony and Judith, live right downstairs and are absolutely wonderful. They even gave us a vase of flowers and a card for our honeymoon. Even though property management is involved in the booking process, Tony made everything feel like it was a traditional b&b during our stay. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

The Perfect North Shore Base!

Simply amazing. To start, if you are debating visiting the North Shore of Kauai during the summer, stop thinking and pull the trigger. The beaches are breathtaking, the most beautiful we have seen on all of the islands. Crystal clear turquoise water, an abundance of snorkeling options, and breathtaking views. This is the first time we have seen turtles, monk seals, and dolphins all in the same trip while just hanging out at the beach. We had Anini Beach and Secret Beach practically to ourselves. Tony's place was immaculately clean. Everything is labeled, you can tell a lot of care and love is put into this property. We had everything we needed from chairs, to snorkeling gear, beach bag, cooler, and towels. Huge TV with all the Apps you could want. Bed was comfortable and there is a window AC unit in the bedroom which kept us cool at night. Lots of windows and fans. During the winter I'm sure this place stays very cool, it was a little toasty for us though and we needed the AC at night. The balcony view is great, not a beachfront balcony but you can see a sliver of the ocean with beautiful trees and plants along the way. The property was beautiful and well maintained. Pool was much bigger than we gathered from the pictures, we didn't use it but it did seem heated from dipping our toes. There is a 10-15 minute trail from the apartment down to the far end of Anini Beach, it is steep and the this part of the beach is not really swimmable. Lots of coral though may be nice for snorkeling. Walk to Queens Bath is about 30-45 minutes (easy neighborhood walking until you hit the trail) and I didn't find the trail down or up to be that difficult. There was some parking outside of Queens Bath but it was very limited. There is a shopping center about 10-15 minutes of neighborhood walking away, we always drove though, it's a very short drive. They have a few restaurants, Food Land, and live music every night. Hanalei was about a 10 minute drive with more dining options, food trucks, shops, and beautiful views. Tony was very attentive and made it a point to check on us. This was an amazing vacation and I would not hesitate to book this property again. One small thing for us was the couch. Neither of us found it particularly comfortable for an extended period of time. Obviously Kauai is not the place to sit on the couch and watch TV, and this would not stop us from booking again, just wanted to share our opinion. Mahalo for an amazing and memorable vacation!

Lovely condo for two of us

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Hoku Lani very much. The unit is well kept and maintained, stocked with the essentials and "extras" such as a beach bag, beach umbrella and chairs, etc., and has a comfortable bed. The unit was also very clean which I appreciate. We enjoyed sitting out on the small balcony listening to the birds drinking our morning coffee. The swimming pool is close by and very nice. We swam there every day. There are many beautiful beaches nearby, one which can be accessed by walking from the condo down a steep trail. Tony and Judith are lovely, friendly and accommodating hosts who live downstairs so you have easy access if you have questions or needs. I highly recommend Hoku Lani.

Home Away From Home On Your Holiday

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Tony & Judith not only have a gorgeous home, they have thought of just about everything one will need no matter how long they are staying there. The kitchen is well-appointed, the living room comfortable, the bedroom didn't require a.c during out time there in early june and ther whole house is filled with "goodies:" from a small cooler perfect to take fishing or to the beach to beach equipment to plush beach towels to ice packs.tony & judth themselves are incredibly generous hosts who do out of their way to make sure their guests have everything they need, even if the property itself occasionally conspires against them (e.g. the parking situation was kind of a mess when we were there, but tony gave us his spot when we needed one!). one note of caution (having NOTHING to do with tony & judith): the pool area is completely unlit at night so if you are using the grill late (i.e. past 8p), BE CAREFUL! the chairs & tables become invisible in the darkness and it is very easy to hurt yourself as you walk past. (fwiw, this was brought to the attention of the board, but was ignored.) otherwise, tony & judith's place is a little piece of heaven. my favorite location on the north shore and just an absolutely perfect place to spend a few fays or a few weeks in paradise.

We found paradise

Loved our stay

The condo was perfect. It had everything we needed for our stay. We loved having the chairs and snorkel equipment available for our use. The host Tony and the property manager were both excellent to deal with. We had a flat tire and they both worked hard tiet us on our way quickly.
