Great North Shore Location

Extraordinary Oceanfront Views

This place was outstanding! The views are amazing, of course -- even better than pictures can convey. We had everything we needed and the place was spotless. The surroundings were top-shelf. Very nice pool -- nothing over the top, just comfortable; the pool looks out over the ocean, too. All the residents, including a handful of kids, were quiet and respectful of others. We can't recommend it enough!

Stunning views at Puu Poa

Overall we were thrilled with the condo and the spectacular views. Surfers and whales out in front of the condo every day. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect

The location and view at this property was unbelievable. We loved watching the surfers each morning off our balcony at Hideaway beach and the proximity to the 1 Hotel’s coffee shop. The unit was spacious and clean.

Great condo in wonderful location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great Condo unit in a beautiful location. Great ocean views, nice grounds and pool area (no hot tub), good access to Hideaways Beach, nice overall location. Condo is older but updated and feels very comfortable. Great patio area, furnishings good. Could use to updates in the kitchen such as new pans, new toaster, etc. but overall nice and large kitchen with views straight out toward the ocean; beautiful sunsets, felt like we lived there. The lack of air conditioning was a little bit of a challenge as it wasn’t very breezy and we definitely slept warm, even with all the fans on (some of the fans need replacing). Overall comfortable and wonderful stay in a world-class location.

Wonderful Stay

The property is at a very nice location in and neighborhood in Princeville. We enjoyed our stay watching the ocean. Cooking and spending time on the deck during the evenings..!! What else to ask for..!!

Lovely stay at Pu’u Poa

Our group was 2 couples at this spacious, beautiful condo with amazing views. We loved being able to walk to Hideaways Beach to snorkel just below our unit. We were able to navigate the steep descent to the beach, though anyone with physical limitations might have trouble. The ropes along the sides helped us manage. We saw some whales splashing in the distance, even in May! We made good use of the two lanais, having most meals outdoors and used the private BBQ. The pool is great and big enough to enjoy with others present. Note that there is only one portable AC in the back bedroom, that was too noisy to use. The primary bedroom temp was ok with opening the slider and using the fan. In warmer months, it could be too hot. We’d stay here again and highly recommend it.

We've stayed at puo poa before. This was a better experience. Had trouble with washer, was fixed with minimal fuss.

Great Princeville vacation

Perfect home base for exploring the North shore and the island of Kauai for a week. Comfortable beds and amazing view of the ocean from this property. The provided beach chairs and towels were very nice, handy for relaxing on the beach.

Property has everything you would ever need for your Kauai stay. They recently remodeled the lanai, so any previous comments about the bad lanai don't worry about anymore. Nice additional surprise was the pickleball courts.

We had the most beautiful ocean view, a pool, and a short climb down to Hideaways Beach. #305 had absolutely everything we needed to enjoy cooking at the condo and visiting the beaches. Such a well stocked condo! The lanai could use some maintenance and lighting, but you don't notice cracked tile when you are looking at the sunset.

Place is amazing. Yes, a little dated, but sofas are comfy. No AC, but none needed in this unit. Lots of summer trade winds keeping things super cool at night plus lots of fans! I actually slept cold! Can’t beat waking up every morning to awesome views. And magical sunsets every evening from BOTH lanais! Made you want to cook more from the kitchen! Will def stay here again.

Pu’u Poa, I’m nearly 100% sure, is the best stay on Kauai!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This Is the 2nd condo at Pu’u Poa in which I’ve stayed and they were both perfect. I prefer to spread out and have living space when I vacation, rather than a tiny one-room hotel option, and the Pu’u Poa condos are just homey and cozy and Oceanside heaven. Two beds, two baths, great kitchen/dining area, fantastic living room and two breathtaking lanais with the best views you can get. I saw too many whales spraying and breaching to count, watched the fog dance around the mountain and drifted to sleep hearing the waves crash at our shore. The condo was well-appointed, impeccably clean and had a sweetly-Hawaiian/island-style decor that, while a bit out-dated, was still nice, classic and understated, and invited you to just relax and enjoy your life in that precious time and space. Check in and check out was easy, communication with management was a breeze. The new hotel, 1 Hotel, opened up in 2023 and was a fantastic next door neighbor as their restaurants are gorgeous and serve great food, and literally are a 4 minute lovely walk from the condo. I was there for breakfast and dinner every day. The Pu’u Poa condos are quiet, feel very safe and are nestled in a beautiful community. I will definitely be back!

Paradise found!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was just as pictured. Ocean view, sound of waves lulling you to sleep. All amenities needed to enjoy the island including beach chairs, ice chest, sunscreen, snorkel gear and so much more. Fully stocked kitchen if you want to prepare your own meals. A few negatives were that there was no beach access that we could locate , but no biggie, we just hopped in our car and drove to one and there are plenty of beautiful beaches to choose from. Also was bummed that I couldnt see a sunset, the mountain blocked it but I could catch a glimpse of it. The view, the amenities make up for it all and I would absolutely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed at the Pua Poa 12 years ago and I remembered the spacious lanais and spectacular views. This time we traveled with another couple (all of us seniors). The unit provided us everything we needed. The furnishings were outdated, but everything was neat and clean. We are not overly picky, but the only complaint would be that the lanai was in need of repair. There were several cracked tiles and weeds popping up between the tiles that housekeeping could have easily taken care of to make things more visually aesthetic . However, our focus is on the ocean and relaxation, so we easily got passed those issues. Overall we had a great time there.

Spacious unit, great view of the ocean.

We really enjoyed our time in the condo. Very spacious. A little outdated but it was comfortable, clean and the washer/dryer was fantastic! Such a relief to come home to after a big day hiking or on the beach. Access to the private beach is nerve-wracking. My husband and I are in decent shape but it is a tough walk up and down. It's muddy, has a very steep incline and you need both hands to hold on to ropes to get up and down. (I'm guessing this happened bc of flooding that occurred on the island). I also think there may be another way to get to the beach that we weren't aware of - so ask. I'd recommend walking through the Princeville Hotel (formerly St Regis) to access their beach - it's public so don't feel weird about it.
