Whiskey mtb bike race stay
Very clean, kitchen and house had all we needed. We cooked nightly and had breakfast at the house, bbq on the last night. Three adults 58+, only critique we woul have is the stairway and upstairs bedrooms have low ceilings. The upstairs bathroom door does not give the best of privacy, same with the curtains for the doors. Downstairs master and bathroom is very nice, would be great for a family with kids for the upstairs. Great attentive host.

Thank you Dan for the nice review. As noted in the house description, the upstairs is 'loft' style with a bathroom in between the bedrooms and the stairs are steep. Glad you were able to use the kitchen and I hope you enjoyed the General Store. Hope to see you again.

I have never had any rating less than a 4 so I am surprised. I know you said that you almost fell of the stool in the kitchen and the built-in soap dispenser was soap was not clear. Was the house clean; was the bed comfortable, was the kitchen clean,was I easy to contact. You were not able to stay the two nights because of weather but you did stay over night, right? I wish you well in your travels.

We Love Prescott
This was our 3rd stay at the General Store, we try to come to Prescott every Aug to escape the Phoenix heat. Debb has a lovely home with all the necessary accommodations. It is a very short drive to Whiskey Row, the Frys and the YMCA are within walking distance. There is AC Williams park where you can take the Granite Creek trail system. There is so much to do, there's too much to list. Debb is a wonderful Host I highly recommend.

Nice weekend getaway
We had a nice stay for the weekend with a friend and our 2 dogs. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced backyard. The property was very cute and historic. My only complaint is the owner couldn't guarantee propane was in the grill. Luckily, it was full enough but it would have been an inconvenience to have to refill it.

I do not guarantee propane BUT I do let my guests know prior to arrival that I would pay for the refill if the tank was empty; the grocery store is a 3-minute drive from the General Store. So, there was enough propane for you to use, glad you were able to use the grill.

Great location
We have been renting VRBO places in Prescott for 15 years and this is the best. Its proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, etc is great. Everything was clean and as described. We would rent this again. And the host was wonderful.

Perfect Host and Charming Home
This was our 2nd time staying at the General Store, clearly we are very pleased with the home and with Debb the host. My husband and I with our 5 year old Husky stayed for 9 days this time, part holiday and part working remotely. The WiFi was excellent for working and the very large dining table made it easy to spread out and work comfortable. The Master Bed and bath on the mail floor had all the necessary accommodations to make our stay comfortable. We also appreciated the use of the washer dryer so we could pack lightly. We were able to make several meals in the home, and when we chose to dine out, all our favorite places were just 5-10 min away. If you haven't tried Red White and Brew, Farm Provisions, Limoncello, or Gato Azul, what are you waiting for! The Fry's grocery was just a quick 2 min drive when we needed fruit or snacks for the work week. We are outdoor enthusiasts and really enjoyed the convenience of many trails including Gold Water, Peavine and Granite Basin which ended up being our favorite this visit, with all the wild flowers and abundance of lily pads in the lake. For those of you with a dog, Prescott has the nicest, cleanest dog park I have ever been to and just a quick 10 min drive down the street. We love the General Store and would recommend to anyone.

Close to everything you want to do
The house is super cute! The stairs to the second and third bedrooms are really steep (no joke). Luckily, we did not need them. We were able to visit several lakes within a 5 mile radius. The only reason I did not give the location 5 stars is the condition of other properties around the block when I walked the dogs and the sobriety house next door. Despite this, everyone was respectful. I would recommend this property.

Perfect Get Away
We have stayed here multiple times and we really enjoy this lovely, well maintained and decorated house with a perfect location. Debbie is extremely accommodating and we will definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Rental House
We ended up staying an extra day because we loved the house so much. Deb was very accommodating and our puppy had a great time too. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for a nice getaway. Well maintained and nicely decorated. 5 stars

Technically a house.
Reserved space to sleep 6 people. That would have been fine, if everyone was a couple. Someone had to sleep on the couch, which didn’t even pull out into a bed. Place was dirty. Very little pride in the property. Pretty disappointed in the overall experience.

Jim, you are the first one that EVER thought my house was dirty. If you would have let me know the issue, I would have had the cleaning supervisor come over to take care of it. I use a professional cleaning company and they are top-notch. I know you were upset that it was a 3 bedroom that slept 6 and you expected 6 beds when my profile states one queen and two doubles.

Clean, cozy and perfect home
Clean, charming and beautiful home with a perfect little backyard to relax, grill, play games and enjoy the beautiful weather. It has everything you’ll need for a nice stay. Linens, spices, fully stocked kitchen, great front porch and a perfect backyard with seating, grill, cornhole, etc. The owner was friendly and quick to respond. We are looking forward to staying here again.

Comfortable Property in Prescott
The good. The property is cute, cozy, and well stocked. Our family enjoyed our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and feed our family. We brought our dogs but forgot their water and food dishes. No worries, the property had them on hand, so we didn't have to run out and get new ones. The place was warm and cozy, which was great given that it was super cold while we were there (18 degrees). We were a little worried there weren’t many blankets on hand, but it turns out we had nothing to be worried about because the heaters and blankets were more than sufficient to keep our family warm and comfortable. The bad/annoying. It turns out that there is an extra fee for having more than 2 people in your group. I booked the house for our family (my wife and two kids). I was more than a little surprised that when I looked at my breakdown of fees, I was charged almost $200 more for bringing my kids. This was not something that was disclosed on the property description and was, in my opinion, a little dishonest. Additionally, the property location was not disclosed until after booking. There are some concerning elements near the property that were a little surprising, which is obviously why the location is not disclosed before booking. In the end. There was nothing to be concerned about with the location and I would book this property again, but I just think it is important to have full disclosure.

It does state that the initial cost is for 2 guests (just like a hotel) then it says additional guests are $23 per person; that is all; just like a hotel. The location is not shown until booked for safety issues; all STR sites do the same. I am sorry you did not see costs listed including extra guests. Thank you for staying at the General Store.

We went into town to see the Christmas parade and events plus get in some dining and shopping. The accommodations were amazing and we would love to be able to stay there again when we return. Perfect location !

Cute house
The house was a nice size for the two of us. It had a fenced backyard which was good for our dog. I liked the upstairs patio and porch swing. The trees in the yard and on the street had great fall colors.

Courage General Store
We had a great time. We were very satisfied with our choice. Debb was a great host and responded very fast to any questions. The house is close to stores, post office, gas station, and it is not fare away from downtown Prescott. The house has all items that we needed available. As Debb stated the stairs to the upstairs are very steep and the ceiling is low. We would stay there again in the future.

4th of July weekend

Everything was good and we enjoyed the house -and hope to return. There were a few hitches but all minor and Debb was very responsive. We toured around Prescott/Jerome/Sedona using the store as home base. For our purposes it was perfect.

Whiskey Basin Race Trip
Two of my girlfriends and I stayed here for a trail race and it was absolutely perfect. It was in a quiet neighborhood which was great because we were in town to run! The house is adorable and comfortable. Since we are outdoorsy ladies, we could have done with a bit more pressure in the shower :), but definitely wasn't a deal breaker. The owner was very specific with all the info and our stay was hassle free!

Awesome Stay at "The General Store"
This house was perfect for our 2-week stay! The Owner Deb was fantastic! Everything was as described. Also the fenced in backyard was ideal for our 2 dogs. Would highly recommend!!!

Cute and clean but cold.
House was well appointed and clean. Bed was super comfortable. Close to town but neighborhood wasn’t the nicest. House never seemed to get warm even with using fireplace and space heater.

Thank you for your feedback. Most all of Prescott is a 'mixed bag'. The city has the largest number of rehab centers in the US; strange huh? Sorry to hear about the heat. Not only is there a fireplace and space heaters, but there is also a wall heater and mini-splitters in the dining room and upstairs. I could have probably explained all of the AC and heaters better. Not good fit for me. Could not lower A/C below 78, didn't find this out until after I paid. Called owner to get instruction on how to operate TV, she said to contact the cable company, her stock response to queries was "it's in the binder", felt like she was inconvenienced. Agreed to a small refund, which has not happened. Won't be staying there again.

I am sorry that you were uncomfortable with the temperature and could not work the TV. There are three AC units in the downstairs with a ceiling fan in every room. I have never had any complaints with the AC, the TV, or how I respond to inquiries. The binder is there for guests to review; like how to lock the front door. I provided you with a refund for the last day that you did not stay; I am sure VRBO is working on it.

Nice place. It's quaint and cozy. Worked well for us for the weekend. The upstairs stairwell is a little steep and small (height-wise). I hit my head on the ceiling walking up.

Sweet place!
Our only complaint was arriving in 100-degree heat in September and the house was closed up, no AC on, no roof vent open, and the inside temp was about 90-degrees. We had to leave for 5 hours for the house to cool down. The owner said she would have the cleaners turn on the AC for future renters in advance of their arrival.

Thank you, James, for your feedback. When the General Store is locked up for a week or so, it does get quite stuffy. We are actually going to install larger AC units upstairs and downstairs so the house will cool down quickly.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful stay and nice property. Everything we needed was there. The stairs are steep with a low ceiling but it was not an issue for our family! Would definitely stay again!!

Place was very clean and had everything we needed

Very nice property
The property is new. Inside was very nice. Kitchen equipped for whatever we wanted to cook. Very convenient for us, easy to get to downtown. We would certainly stay there again.

Nostalgia with Comfort
We came from out of state for a family member's surgery. Loved the proximity to YRMC and town...both easy walks. The house was nicely furnished with all the comforts of home, roomy, impeccably clean, great bar-b-que in back yard, decorative pieces reminiscent of the 40's, which added to the integrity of the home conversion and added a touch of class. My husband, a building contractor, absolutely loved the place and praised the transformation from "General Store" to a warm and comfortable home.
