Redwood Guesthouse- Charm on lake & 5 min to beach
6/10 Okay
"Property was generally clean but smelled musty. Listing price was inaccurate because it did not include mandatory damage insurance. Location on lake is very nice."
"This home is in a great location within walking distance to town and shops as well as to Agate beach. The home was stocked with everything we needed. The host was very responsive and check in was easy. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in Port OrFord. "
Floras Lake Getaway - charming apartment with view of Lake with Kayaks, SUPs
10/10 Excellent
"This was my best travel experience so far in my life. Flora's Getaway was above and beyond what I could've hoped for. I thought the price was really reasonable for the exceptional lakefront apartment. Everything was very clean and tidy and the host was super helpful and responsive. I rented a kayak one day and got to explore the whole lake, and I concluded that this house has the best view in the neighborhood. I didn't see or interact with anyone during my stay, which was exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend this apartment to any nature lovers who love some peace and quiet. Keep en eye out for beavers, Osprey, bald eagles, and great blue heron, among the many Canada geese and other songbirds (which I recorded over 15 different species nearby!). Drinking coffee on the dock and looking out at the still, reflective water is an otherworldly experience. The house itself was so well maintained and had everything taken care of down to every small detail. "
"Large studio loft. All the amenities you could need are provided, including a basket with a food dish, treats, and a soft blanket for our dog. There is a view of the harbor from the deck which we enjoyed. Very comfortable bed. Lovely inviting space. Very quiet. Hope to return. "
Custom A Frame Cabin
-Firepit & Grill-WIFI & W/D-
Pet Friendly!
Close to Beach!
8/10 Good
"Before I mention things that would be helpful for future vacationers, I want to say this is a beautiful property in a beautiful spot! Excellent jumping off point for adventures. Definitely recommend, but only if you don't intend to do much cooking.Things I wish I'd known:The oven/range and kitchen lights do not work properly. I thought this might be a new issue, but looking back at other reviews, I see that another family had the same exact issue... in 2022. The kitchen also lacks some essential tools. There's an additional vacation rental across the parking area, above the garage. Not a problem for us, but it should have been disclosed in the listing, as we were surprised by others arriving at night, where we didn't expect them. The windows downstairs are wonderful during the day... and lack any kind of covering for night time. It's a secluded area, but if you would not be comfortable surrounded by black windows at night, this might not be the right rental for you.The listing mentions "light blocking" curtains in the master bedroom (east-facing). They are light-filtering. So sleeping in might not be an option for you. There was only enough hot water for two short showers in a row (about 12 minutes). We were 2 adults and 3 teens.Scant written instructions, no local emergency contact number provided, and no proactive communication from the host. She was friendly and responsive when I reached out, though there was a delay which may reflect a time zone difference."
"The location is fantastic, truly out of town. The house is very comfortable. The beds were okay. The house itself needs a proper deep cleaning and an upgrade to the kitchen supplies. We cooked every night and found that we were missing typically expected items like cheese graters and vegetable steamers. Guests should bring their own paper towels if that is what they are used to.I don't recommend using the washing machine. Because it has not been properly maintained, it smells of mildew. We learned this the hard way when we did a load of clothes which we then had to take into town to the laundromat to rewash. The hot tub was very nice. The setting really makes up for any inconveniences."
