"This is a great place to stay when visiting Colonial Williamsburg. It is next to the visitor center and the busses circulating around the historical area. While we did not use many of the facilities since we are "old folks", there are a lot of things for kids to do on the property- pool, splash pad, ping pong, miniature golf. The hotel is a little dated but that is part of its charm. Some of the electronics could be improved. There is no restaurant at this hotel but the expanded continental breakfast was a nice touch. Our room was a king suite with a very comfortable bed and a separate living room. I would stay here again if I visited the area."

"The hotel was clean and superior. We were let down on the last day by having a workman bang on the door in the morning wanting access. Clearly these were contractors but the hotel should have made sure guests were not being disturbed."

"First and last time crossing that threshold….2 absolutely shocking events take place within about an hour….we were in the room locked in with an extra kick stick barring the door. All of a sudden we can hear someone using a key card trying to get in our room…I yelled and you can hear them say something like why would they give us this room key…I called the front desk and they said they would look at the cameras and called me back….said there was an error made and apologized. Ok. Try to give some grace. Then as we are settled in and watching a show before bed….lights are low but with the TV on still bright enough that when I see movement out of the corner of my eye I turn and get to watch a 3+ inch cockroach walking across the floor like we were the unwelcome guests!! Immediately crushed it!!! Called the desk again and asked for an immediate refund and out the door we went!"

"Check in took forever. Computer problems they said. The desk associate went to the back for help. Returned 10 minutes later. No luck. Went to the back room again and returned 10 minutes later. Again- no luck. So she said her manager would help me check in. So I moved to that spot and again waited. Only after me asking if there was a manager did she appear. Chewing. Terribly sorry to interrupt you dinner with your computer issues! As she chewed, she finished checking us in and provided the parking pass and room keys with a map. We’ve been to the property many times but never to this building. We paid top dollar for a room that looked absolutely nothing like the photos in the “select your room” section of the process. It was old and likely hadn’t been update in decades. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t turn around easily. The location of the room was adjacent to the maintenance area/loading dock so the “beep beep beep” of trucks in reverse was constant 24/7. Checking out, we were told parking fees were added to the account. Parking fees? Again, we’ve been there many times and never had a parking fee. Never told- just the card capture for “incidentals”. Hotels.com doesn’t mention a fee for parking either. Then for the cherry on top- I check the hotel website for the parking fee and find out our room, had I booked directly and not through Hotels.com, we could have paid HALF the PRICE of the room on Hotels.com. I don’t know what new deal they work but do not use Hotels.com."
