At 4,527 feet (1,380 metres) above sea level in the Andes Mountain Range, this settlement was once very isolated. In fact, before a railroad was built through the area, Potrerillos was made up of just a few farms. Today, join thousands of visitors each year who come for the fresh air and adventure tours.
Summer activities revolve around Potrerillos Dam, a 7-mile- (12-kilometre-) long lake, fed by the Mendoza River. For a rush, go rafting or riverboarding down the rapids of the Mendoza River.
