Considering I made a late reservation to stay in Poteau for the eclipse, I was happy to get the room, even though it was a smoming.

This place has crazy bad reviews for no reason, the front desk and housekeeper were super sweet. There was a cop parked the whole week I stayed and the sheriffs office of the whole county is located there in poteau not too far away either so it is a cop town in general they’ll be everywhere, I felt safe the whole time I stayed and I love that you can park directly in front of your room door. Super cute retro vibes I felt like I was staying at my grandpas house. I actually checked out and came back twice because my job kept getting delayed there and I would totally come stay again if I ever come back for work! But overall the price for the room is amazing compared to the other more expensive places I stayed at previously in the area which I did not have good experiences at.

We realized that it would be hard to find something last minute for this area. It was really all there was without paying twice the price or driving another 25 miles. When we pulled up there was no ‘check-in’ lobby. We had to ring a doorbell for service and passed info and key thru a slot under the window. We wondered if it was a really bad area of town or the drug haven. It was old but somewhat clean except the front windows. The curtains were in need of repair and the door was hard to open and close. The door frame was rusty. Vending machines had one brand of off brand pop that was out of date. There were no hand towels. Vanity and sink were very low…….like thigh height. The beds were cheap but surprisingly I didn’t wake up with a backache. Refrigerator and microwave were old and the frig froze my drink. Limited tv. No coffee!

It was close to fast food places, ext. For the price we paid it should have been a better place to stay. Needs work. Shower could have been cleaned better, toilet handle broken, shower nobs broken, some outlets did not work. Only one lamp worked. Table in room was almost broken.Beds very hard.

Lobby was filled with junk. Had to register while standing outside in the cold wind. I should have left then but I would have been billed for the room anyway. I was put in the back row of rooms that can't be seen from the road. The room looked like it was mid-remodel. There were no other cars at any of the rooms. Just as I went to bed a truck pulled up in front of my room and the motor kept running for a few minutes. I got up and looked out the peep hole and 2 men were standing beside the truck talking and they kept looking at my car. I was actually afraid they were going to steal it. They left after about 5 minutes. There were no usb ports. I booked a smoking room but had to call the office for an ashtray. When they brought it I was told that this is actually not a smoking room would I please air the room out. It's freezing cold outside and very windy. I did not feel safe here and left the next day even though I had booked for 3 days and wouldn't get my money back.

It could have been a little cleaner like there was cob webs. There was no coffee pot, or hair dryer. The mini fridge was not clean. And the parking lot has a lot of bad places in it. The shower would not turn off and when I turned the water on I got wet with clod water. The room was clean other than the cob webs. The beds were not to bad as far as comfort. Never did find vending machines or ice machine. No smoking in rooms is fine but there was no ash trays out side. We started two nights and on day two we were not in our room most of the day and they put clean towels in there but did not make the bed. It was very quiet. For the price we paid it should have been a better place. Staff was nice at check-in.

Liked the location being on the main strip of Poteau, the staff was friendly and courteous, wasn’t the cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at with our newborn. Undecided if we’ll give it another try when we are back in town.

It was awful. Very run down. A good portion of the rooms appeared to be heavily damaged from the outside. The police kept circling the parking lot. The room itself looked clean but that”s about all I could say about it. One side of the bed was so close to the wall, I could barely get out of it. It was uncomfortable. The paint on the door had peeled off. I didn’t feel safe there & put a chair against the door. The ice machine wasn’t working. The young man who checked us in wasn’t exactly warm & friendly. We won’t be back.

The property is always up to cleaning standards and the staff are friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend and I stay at this place often when traveling.

Its a dump run by lazy people Place needs health department walk thru Property is so neglected and run down rooms look nothing like the photos trust me. I ride a Motorcycle all over the US and this has to be the most run down, falling apart place i think ive ever stayed at Their no cancelation no refund policies should tell you all you need to know. First review of a motel in my life but this I just feel the need to warn people.

Stay was nice. Only complaints was the bedspread had a few cigerette burn holes in it and the room could use updating (paint ect) for the price you pay. Otherwise it was quiet and comfortable.

Room was great, all appliances worked , the bed was very soft and comfortable. The location was great. All stores and eating places were within a mile or so. Great stay for the price. Staff were nice and accomodating. Will definitly stay again when in the area

Really surprised me. The outside was really run down but the room was clean,bed slept good but could have been better pillows. Also no coffee pot or coffee and you weren't allowed in the lobby. Room was booked for 2 people but only one washcloth and 2 towels. I would stay again but bring extra towels and my own coffee pot. Really not sure how they stay open with four buildings snd very limited guests. Having Directv was a plus eith all the movie channels and being close to alot of different things

The room was dirty. There were several dead roaches laying around and when room service came in the several days i was there they did not bother to clean them up. They fixed a bed with dirt in it. And did not leave any toilet tissue, which we were completely out and had to go purchase our own.

Run down rooms and property as a whole. Placed our party in the very back of the property by what appears to be weekly renters. First thing that happened was another tenant let their pit bull loose and it chased me on my motorcycle trying to bite at my legs. Bed cover was stained and looked unclean. Traffic flowed from a street at the rear of the property constantly, in and out for a couple of minutes and then leaving again. I won’t say what I suspect was going on there. Wifi and tv was good. Owner/ manager was nice. Wouldn’t stay here again.

It was a basic room, no amenities, no coffee in room, or office, no pictures on walls, pillows about 2” thick. Room & everything in it looked to be over 30 years old. I personally would never stay there again

Reasonable place, reasonable rates...
I wasn't looking for anything more than a no-frills place to crash for the night. Black Angus filled the bill nicely. If you're looking for posh luxury, with all the requisite accouterments, you're in the wrong town anyway. If, like me, you only need a place to sleep for a reasonable price, look beyond the visible warts and give this place a shot.

The experience is always good here the rooms are always clean the only thing I do not like about when I stay here is that when they want to clean your room on the day of checkout they come and start beating on your door and I find it very rude
