It was handy in that it was not too far to walk from the train station and located near the sea front. The room was full of flies when we got in which was weird. The shower was broken so there was nowhere to hook the head. The toilet has a pump that sounds like it's in dire need of a service and when you flush, water bubbles up from the shower drain. The radiator doesn't get hot enough to heat the room so they supply a fan heater which doesn't work. The windows rattle in the wind so I wedged them with some bits of cardboard. There is a blackout blind because of the street lighting coming through the window at night, but it only comes down three quarters of the way. Other than that it was perfect

The room was in need of some love as far as decoration goes. The main lampshade was a large 'white' feather arrangement which looked filthy, had cobweb coming off it.The bed was fairly comfortable & bedding was clean. The bathroom was fairly clean although the area between the shower & basin looked dirty. The TV didn't have reception. Unable to rate staff as we saw no-one, entering & leaving via key safe.
The accommodation was very basic with the toilet down the corridor and no food available.I would normally pay more for overnight accommodation so it seems I made the wrong chiice
No en-suite , unable to turn heating down , poor decor , very basic accommodation

Poor condition
The room was in a very poor condition. The shower clamp was broken, decoration poor, toilet seat was loose, the sink was loose, the extract fan didn’t work and there was no hanging area. Also the room could do with blackout curtains as there was a street light right outside the window.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
This was the worst stay We have had anywhere. Nobody at a desk at anytime. We messaged and called, nobody got back to us. NO HEAT at all, we had to sleep in our cloths. Then NO hot water in the morning. We will NEVER recommend this place!

No hot water, no one to help, phoned number but no help, rubbish missed under the bath, bulbs missing
The heating did not work. First we froze and then it became too warm...there was no control. The room was tiny and quite unsuitable for a couple. The bathroom fittings were too small and everything was loose and coming off the wall.
Personally I would no revisit, This is what I would expect student accommodation to look like, after its been used for a few months. The towels were a nice touch though.
Great room slightly below standard complimentaries
Gorgeous room and lovely decor overall although a few things were broken opun arrival e.g. One of the blinds pull strings was snapped and one of the plant pots was crackes.
The staff were very courteous and helpful.
I would rate higher but the rooom did not come with any bath products or a hair dryer, and the tea and coffee was kept in the hallway between the rooms rather than having a selection in the room.
Will definitely stay again if this is fixed.
The property was ok, it is a brilliant location, however the bar was unable to sell any alcohol, due to not having a licence, so we did not bother eating there.
A huge area of concern was that the room had a kettle, however the cups, tea, coffee and sugar were on the landing served in an open uncovered dish, hardly hygienic in this any situation, let alone in this current climate.
At a first glance the rooms seemed to be clean and well presented but the blinds were thick dust in most of the rooms, the doors to all rooms were left open, encouraging the spread of infections, the largest family room has a see through door to the bathroom therefor it is not private, you have to walk through the bathroom to enter the bedroom, the wardrobes of sliding doors was full of junk, another room had a shower in the corner with a screen in front of it and a wash basin, the toilet was not in the room but down a corridor to the left. another room had a private bathroom, much better but general cleaning was required. overall room for improvement and not as advertised. Breakfast is not available because the bar area does not open until 11am.
Such a shame because it is in a brilliant location, close to everything you need and wish to see. Staff didn't really seem caring or knowledgeable. My advice stay at the premier inn.

Quirky room which was lovely and spacious for a family. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Booked to stay but unable to get in. When we arrived wasted time had to wait for manager to arrive who also couldn’t get in. plan was to have a shower and go out but couldn’t get in so went for a walk till they got key. Manager couldn’t get key so booked us in somewhere else. Plus we booked a place with restaurant and bar shown as facilities they were both closed.
Over booked hotel. Allowed us to book a room as a family for 5 when we arrived there were only 2 double rooms available..... (3 in one bed).No one was there when we left in the morning.
Very disappointed not at all what one expected old in need if up date no TV in room no internet unfortunately due to coved no restaurant facilities really disappointed fir a family room £126.00 not at all worth it very deceiving description.
Very dissatisfied. Shown to a room that had no bathroom, just a visible shower in the corner of the room.
Passageway up to the rooms was full of garden chairs which made accessibility a challenge
We managed to swap rooms but mattress was very uncomfortable and too small for a couple
Kettle was full of water and limes ale
Toilet pump made loud odd noises after flushing
Shower drain was blocked with led to the bathroom flooding.
When arriving there wasn’t anyone to let me in, spent an hour trying to contact someone. After making contact it took another 45 mins for someone to let us in. I was left in the property on my own, when leaving they locked the front door and didn’t leave the correct key to get out. Had to make contact again for someone to unlock the door. There was a street light right outside the window and there was white netting and blinds up which didn’t block anything. There was also a pub sign outside the window which squeaked when moving in the window, which on the seafront was constant.
The room was lush. It was a bit weird walking into the bathroom to go to the bedroom, but it was amazing.
It was also a little unnerving that the bed was on wheels, so kept moving throughout the night!
Excellent séjour, superbe chambre, personnel très accueillant et chaleureux, au top

We had a great weekend, the managers Jayne and Tom Really looked after us. The accom was clean and tidy but needed some attention to detail. The food was great and the location fantastic.
The hotel cancelled my booking informing me by phone. Hotels.com app still isn't showing that it was cancelled. As I paid for the booking via the app, I now have been told that I would have to wait 3 to 5 days for a refund. Avoid using this app and avoid The Wellington Bar and Restaurant, Portsmouth.
