The day before my arrival I was contacted by the hotel to organise the check-in time, very nice of them. The hotel is very close to the beach and to other services like restaurants, pubs and supermarkets.

It was really modern and clean inside; shared kitchen area with fridge, freezer, microwave, and free tea and coffee, which was great. Our room was quite hot as it was on the top floor, but when we asked, they brought up a fan, which was great and solved the problem. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location for the beach with bar and restaurants very close by.

Good clean budget hotel we thought we'd booked an ensuite but it was ok as there was no one else sharing the shower toom. Definitely stay again but have en suite.

We booked own bathroom and then it was changed. You can hear the nxt room with opening whatever by the wall ... Tea n coffee would b better in room.. Bin was never emptyed!! I work in bnb and we alway empty the bins.... Staff was absolutely lovely

Lovely hotel would definitely return. Everything was clean and well looked after. The staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Close to Gunwharf shopping centre and right on the beachfront! Excellent stay :)

Room was clean but with drink spill stains on walls and plaster missing by one light switch despite website saying recently redecorated. (Maybe it was still ongoing). Pillows could do with replacing as they were flat with no extras to boost height. Walked a lot in the local area & visited Dockyard & museums which were close by. It was a base for a quick getaway weekend. Loads of places to eat nearby. Would consider staying there again if we were going to that area. Was good for the money paid.

Receptionist area is not manned on a regular or scheduled basis.Although I think receptionist should be there from check in at 2pm up till 11pm as was indicated by hotel,the area was either closed or no1 inside regularly during those hours and even check out hours at 11 am no one was there.I didnt like that at all.Cant be running a hotel and someone isnt around to be called upon.

Basic hostel - ok but stinky

This is very basic hostel - not really right to call it a hotel. It's shared bathrooms and the nearest one had a massive hole in the floor of the shower. The rooms had broken lockers in, contributing to the hostel vibe. It's was ok for the price but the most off-putting thing was the smell. The room smelled like smelly feet when we arrived and the whole place stank of sewage for most of the time we were there. It didn't feel healthy, esp as we were with young kids. Sound also travelled very easily. The host was friendly and welcoming but not around to feed back to on checkout.

The room had two sets of bunk beds which was enough for 4 people if you are young and agile. However we made it work. If the steps to top bunk were padded it would be helpful.The bathroom was shared and down the hall. Again, not convient for retired people. Otherwise not bad for the price.

We were lucky to get this double room on the weekend of Victorious festival and the room and amenities were clean. However the bathroom on the top floor that is one shared between 5 rooms didn't have toilet roll by 5am and wasn't refilled by 9am and the shower gel had run out. So I would recommend this hotel if you bring your own toilet roll, shower gel and flip flops for the bathroom. The staff on reception were friendly and kept in touch. We purchased a £2.50 permit but still couldn't park due to the festival so had to drop off bags and park further in to southsea - final thoughts, it did the job and served its purpose.
