Top Poplar Lake Hotel Reviews

Cascade Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in the lodge portion of the complex and really enjoyed our room and amenities. Since it was spring we were able to take advantage of open windows and fresh air. We utilized the downstairs lobby for reading and a game of scrabble, and even played a round of ping pong in the basement (it was a little more stuffy down there). The hiking trails were utilized to go over to Cascade River State Park. The steps and bridges are a bit run down but still useable. We also dined at the restaurant where the kitchen was a little backed up (it was a Saturday evening) but totally worth the wait as the burgers and poutine were delicious. We even wandered across the road to the lake to enjoy it close up. We are very happy with our stay, the only complaint would be the slightly saggy bed. It was not the most comfortable to sleep in. Otherwise everything met or exceeded our expectations. Thanks!"

The Shoreline Inn
6/10 Okay
"Time to retire this property and rebuild on the site. it is a very special location and could be quite attractive. The street-side presents a very pretty face, not supported by the inside."

Charming Artistic Getaway! Fireplace, Arcade,Trail
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place. Set up is great for 3 couples. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoor deck but the living room space had a great view from the big windows and sliders. It was really cozy sitting by the fireplace. The kitchen was set up great to do all our cooking. Finally, it was a quick trip to Grand Marais."

Aspen Inn
8/10 Good
"I was a bit nervous about staying here after reading some other reviews. But when we got there, the lady at the front desk was super welcoming and friendly. Then we went to our room, number 106. I was really surprised at how clean it was, and it smelled so fresh. The room is a bit old-fashioned, but it was really cozy, and everything worked perfectly. The bed was soft and comfy. The TV was a Roku smart TV, so there were tons of things to watch. The fridge worked great too. The room was super quiet, we didn't hear a soul. We could park our car right outside our door. We even went over to the sister hotel to swim and use the spa. They were also really friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again."

"Didn't realize it was 2 unattached levels but it was fine. Very pretty, nice place, decorated lovely. It was very icy when we were there. But its winter in MN so probably to be expected. Had a nice relaxing weekend."
