This charming original 1957 two-bedroom, one-bath log cabin sits right on Main Street, offering the perfect location in town with a blend of historic small-town character and modern comfort. Recently updated with new windows and a remodeled kitchen and bathroom. The cabin also features new Dreamcloudmattresses for a restful night after a day of adventure. Stay connected with high-speed Starlink internet while enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Colorado mountains. Whether you're looking for adventure or a quiet place to unwind on the front porch, this thoughtfully updated cabin offers the perfect home base for your mountain getaway.
    Pitkin has become an increasingly popular mountain destination, especially during the spring, summer, and early fall seasons when the town comes alive with weekly events, outdoor activities, and community gatherings. From live music and local celebrations to endless opportunities for hiking, fishing, ATV adventures, and exploring the surrounding mountains, there's always something to enjoy while still experiencing the peaceful charm that makes Pitkin so special.
    While you're here, be sure to visit the historic Pitkin Hotel, which has been beautifully remodeled, for fine dining and drinks at their open year-round Bon-Ton Bistro. Or sit back and relax in the spring and summer at their Venue 1904 for live entertainment, wood fired pizza oven and full bar. Stop at the gift shop at Pitkin's charming general store, The Silver Plume, that captures the authentic spirit of this historic Colorado mining town, offers basic food items, a gift shop, ATV Rentals, and an outside grill. Also worth a visit is the new Terrible Mountain fine art gallery on Main Street, offering workshops, yoga classes and a portrait studio. At the entrance to town, you will find the Stumbling Moose, a local bar and grill that also offers live entertainment, food, pool table, gift shop and a coffee shop in the original Pitkin train depot.
    Salmon Trout Retreat is our family cabin, and we have connections to Quartz Creek Valley and Gunnison for more than 50 years. Our family loves coming to Pitkin to enjoy the beauty, serenity, activities, and slower pace of this special mountain community. We're excited to share our cabin that has created so many meaningful memories for our family and hope it becomes a favorite escape for yours as well.
