"Fantastic location that's walking distance to the refuge! the room was very clean and the owners were very helpful and gracious.
The room itself was basic and maybe a little weary, but the location, secure parking, and kindness of the owners made it great. If I were to visit again, I'd stay if their treehouse for the charm and amenities."
"This is my favourite place in Nosara - beautifully designed, cozy, feels like a home away from home. Property is stunning and the staff are extremely helpful and kind. I have been back several times and am already booking my next stay here! "
"This was absolutely my favorite. I can’t wait to bring my boys. The casita was like a tiki hut. The grounds were tropical jungle and the staffs were warm and welcoming. I have nothing negative about this hotel."
"Great hotel, amazing staff and management, really good and groundling energy that match to the hotel name. Definitely will go back next trip to Nosara. They recognize you by the name and very warm hospitality."
"We had a fantastic stay here! The owners run a proud family business. The property is beautiful. We came with 3 families — the rooms were set up perfectly for 4. We ate on site one night and the food was delicious.

"This resort was beautiful. A good bit off the beaten path but what a jewel when you get there! The rooms were quite spacious and lovely. There was a welcome gift when we arrived of fresh fruits. No matter where you are on the property, you can hear the waves crashing and it is glorious! The resort felt very exclusive and was populated but not crowded at all. Each time I went to the pool or any of the many options for laying out I felt like I had my preference. They had so many options of shaded or sunny spots to relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings. There were several iguanas on the property that loved sunning themselves by the pools as well. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning that was included in our stay but our favorite was lunch. The guacamole was fabulous and paired with the chicken quesadillas it was perfect! This resort was excellent for relaxing. We also took advantage of the spa. The couple's massage with the sound of the ocean was fantastic! Easily one of our favorites of all time and we love a good spa day!! As I stated in the beginning, Azul hotel and retreat is off the beaten path and you will need to rent a car. I'd suggest flying into Liberia Airport but it will still be a long drive to ANY of the resorts, but a lot longer if you fly into San Juan like we did. I loved the Azul Hotel and Retreat and I'm very glad we found such a great place to stay with wonderful employees that took great care of us!"
"Our family of 8 adults & 5 kids (ages 0-6) stayed for spring break! The biggest disappointment is the listing is NOT walking distance and misleading in proximity to the beach! There is a chain link fence surrounding the property and no way down to the water, even though Google maps has a path showing. Also NOT a luxury place but it has great bedrooms with full ensuite bathrooms. The bedroom furniture was NOT in new shape but and no soaps or extras. All bedrooms had great A/C units, however the power went out almost nightly. The place is mostly outdoors, but the wind and dust all through the home makes hard to keep clean. The place was lacking in wine glasses and kitchen essentials like pots with lids and cooking tools, sink plugs, hand towels. A nice fridge and freezer, a gas stove (ran out of propane), microwave and microwave oven, plus a blender for smoothies was there. The Internet worked great and the washer / dryer too, but no detergent was available. Each bedroom offered 4 towels but the place had no beach towels or beach toys like boogie or surf boards. The view is really nice and there is plenty of seating however the patio furniture is quite worn and the pool old too. The place has nice lights around the pool, but overall the lighting is quite poor and the common places had no A/C so we struggled to play cards or do things at night as it was quite dark. The place parks 3 cars great and has a lovely carport for 2. Marbella Beach and the Tiki Hut are a real Paradise, "
