We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Amalfitana. The staff were really friendly and helpful - let us leave our baggage with them before and after check out to be able to explore and called us taxi when leaving. The location is perfect -5 min (if that) walk from the leaning tower and about 10-15 min walk to train station and central shopping area. The building itself and rooms are outdated, however the toom size and cleaness compensates this in my opinion. Overall would recommend, as is really good value for money.

Excellent location - easy walk from train and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Staff were nice and helpful. Attached restaurant was excellent. AC worked well. Hotel is good value, but had a few small problems (as expected at this price point) like one of the mattresses was uneven and the toilet tank sprayed water out of the top so we had to put a towel over it. Would still stay there again all things considered.

Literally right down the road from the Cathedral and Bell Tower. Maybe a 6 minute walk with food and shopping right around the corner. A little bit longer (16minutes) but still an easy walk from the train station.

Almost no light with very few amenities, everything is really old and damaged, our room was completely flooded by the rain so we had to evacuate fast. On photo it looked better and that’s the reason we picked it. Would never back there.

Not a bad location
Great hotel, central to most places to see. Not much of a distance from airport, leaning tower & cathedral were within walking distance. Staff were very helpful, check in was quick & easy, room was clean.

Equal distance between the train station and The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Lots of restaurants in adjoining streets. Hotel basic but perfect for exploring and for the price. Felt safe and clean.

The Amalfitana is a clean, well maintained hotel, north of the river and 400 metres from the famous tower. 20 minutes walk from the rail station through the much more interesting town south of the Arne than the tourist infested northern side. It is a no-frills hotel, suitable for 1 to 2 night stay but with very friendly, helpful staff. My room was adequate fro my over night stay. Breakfast in the adjoining bar was just the job, with freshly squeezed juice. The restaurant attached does a good dinner, for lower prices than the restaurants near the tower, and you get 15% discount. Very happy to recommend.

Close to the tower and cathedral, so we'll situated. Room was well maintained and quiet. Good breakfast served in restaurant attached to the hotel. Evening meal can also be had.

Bed bugs!
Bee bugs! 2 rooms we had 4 of us had to share a bed. We all have multiple bites from bed bugs. Research shows this is a problem over past 5 years The owner refunded the price of one room. Apart from this the room was clean and hotel is right near tower. I would have had nothing negative to say if it had not been for the bed bugs. Please change all mattress and head boards Such a shame.

Hosts Mario and Esmeralda were very nice and attentive . We appreciate Mario picking us up from the S Stae station late in the night . Mario went over and above by getting gluten free bread for our son who has food allergies on his own , which was not requested or expected .

Superb staff and spacious room
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, from cleaner to reception to waiters to bar staff. They could not do enough for us. The room was reasonably spacious although the shower cubicle a bit on the small side but we managed ok. 5 minute walk to the tower and Cathedral and 15 minute walk to the train station.

The hotel had what we needed for a 2 day stop off on our tour round Tuscany the room clean and the bed linen was spotless with towels and toiletries it would have been nice to be able to make a drink in the room but the restaurant and bar were on hand for a lovely Americana The most enjoyable part was the friendly staff especially in the restaurant and the food was good they were also helpful when our flight was changed and we were able to leave our luggage while we visited the botanical gardens and had a last look at the leaning tower. The location for us was brilliant and we are glad we were that side of the river

Bed Bugs Alert!
Staff was nice and friendly, location is good, room was OK for this type of a hotel. We should have been cautious when we received a device "against the mosquitoes" upon check-in, and we indeed ended up with a bunch of bites around our bodies - but not from mosquitoes, rather from BED BUGS!! Afterwards we could tick off all typical symptoms: bites in a group or in a straight line on areas of the body that was left uncovered for the night (my forehead, arms and legs), small blood-marks and black marks on the bed-linen, bites showing up and becoming scratchy anytime between 1 and 14 days (me and my daughter got the bites on our second morning at the Hotel and then some new ones the following day, my wife only got them 12 and 13 days later - but they all disappeared in the same rhythm, and fortunately we didn't get any new ones later, in other hotels. We ended up washing and drying (at 85C) all of our clothes twice before we drove home later from our vacation - and now a month later we seem to be safe (but probably because we realized what it was in time, and did all pre-cautions not to take them home). But all indications point toward this hotel as to where we got all those bites, so be super careful and think twice before you book!! Otherwise the pizzeria next door is also good - and as I said, the staff was very friendly. Too bad they don't seem to realize what their guests are being bitten by (NOT mosquitoes!).
